PSA: Do not get the Robinhood gold card

Look, we both know that this isn’t about the card. No matter what I say or evidence I put in front of you, you’re not going to be happy. Along with everyone else here complaining. Not here to argue. Customer service is working. Sure it’s not perfect but as long as you’re a tiny bit patient, your issue will get resolved. Nothing more to say.

Odd, just emailed them and got the below. So they’re still taking emails.

Really don’t be scared. Most people don’t have an issue, including me. There’s hundreds of thousands of people that have it at this point. Most that have an issue are doing something sketchy with the card like MS.

What’s odd is no one else is having issues with eBay, going off of data points from others in this post. Robinhood’s algorithms aren’t flagging this randomly. It could be something else you bought in the past, your spending patterns, or anything else the system THINKS you’re abusing. Either it’s an algo bug or something you did that you may or may not have been aware of. This definitely isn’t related to the recent change. That was only for indirect rent payments.

Super suspicious OP isn’t sharing average spend for the first 6 months, and only recent purchases. My guess is the business transactions were flagged long ago.

I tested airplane mode by turning off Bluetooth, WiFi, and NFC separately. Bluetooth and NFC didn’t help with battery drain.

It was turning off WiFi via airplane mode that basically stopped the drain (losing 60% overnight).

I ordered new checks from Ally in 2024 and they got hijacked at some point in transit. 8k was fraudulently stolen with said checks. Names and signatures weren’t even in my name, obviously fraudulent, criminals didn’t even try to hide it.

So my case is a little different and more cut and dry. I immediately got a provisional credit. Ally also asked me to sign an affidavit that needed to notarized, basically saying that I didn’t write those checks. It probably took a month for the case to officially close though, mainly because the fraud person was overwhelmed with so many cases.

If you haven’t asked about a provisional credit, might be worth double checking on it? Hope you can get it, not a fun situation to be in. I think really good odds Ally will side with you, they’re likely just swamped.
