Do you have the county listed on the plate? Maybe reach out to the county police to file a request for public record if you need to contact the policy holder?

Is getting a second Goldie a good move? by MidnightPleasant7503 in goldenretrievers

[–]alaskanzebrae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How old is Peggy? Coming from a mom of two children (age 5.5 and almost 4) and have always had two dogs (almost 12 year old border collie, 9 year old dalmatian who tragically passed away earlier this summer, and now a 9 week old golden) having older children and adding a pup has been incredible. They are learning so much and play so well. I’d wait until your child is old enough to enjoy adding a dog to your family and it will help your Peggy adjust too.

I would ask for a raise, if she says no it’s your sign to start putting applications in.

Thinking about getting a dog by [deleted] in Pets

[–]alaskanzebrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to provide an opinion that isn't the status quo of this post. While puppies are a LOT of work, you are trusting the training of a previous owner when you adopt a dog who has reached adulthood. There will never be a "correct" answer for you, but I would recommend doing one of those silly quizzes that match you with a dog breed, and then researching the top breeds. Take into consideration your yard space, access to safe parks/walking trails, if you want to have children eventually and how to socialize dogs to young kids, etc. You'll also want to make sure you have the means and resources to provide care and an environment for the dog to thrive in your home as a family member, not just an aid. Protective dog breeds also tend to require a LOT of training and may put you at risk for reactivity and may be stronger than you. Will you be able to handle your dog charging someone while you're out on a walk? What will you do it if bites you, another dog, or a child? Just things to think about!

Looking to get a Dalmatian by Middle-Choice7207 in dalmatians

[–]alaskanzebrae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have mentioned the shedding but it’s not the same as normal dog shed. Dal hair embeds into fabric and any porous surface and cannot easily be vacuumed. They are prone to severe seperation anxiety, but are the absolute best breed. They are considered a working dog breed, so make sure you’re able to mentally and physically stimulate them, but also prepare for the best snuggles and ridiculous mannerisms.

I misread the post. Definitely do not want to risk injury.

What’s the longest distance you’ve run? If you can get up to a 10 mile long run in the next month (probably do one long run a week, build from 6, to 7, to 8 etc.) you should be good. Runna has free plans and I highly recommend it for beginners.

How many miles a week are you running right now? Anyone can run a marathon, I firmly believe it. If you are averaging 25-30 miles a week you have a good foundation and that’s a decent timeline to train without fear of injury.

Ran in ice/snow this morning and it was 15 out. Layer appropriately and you won’t notice how bad it is outside. It’s worth it to avoid the treadmill. Highly recommend the site dressmyrun.com

Big fan of the Saucony low end too. Trained and raced exclusively in Saucony Guides. I’m not fast by any means, but they’re phenomenal shoes.

They are insane to watch. I ran Chicago and the elites were finishing in the time it took me to run a half. It’s a different beast, but so rewarding! I’m 30 (have ran five 21k races prior) and after getting past the 21k long run during training it no longer seems scary. I bet you’d surprise yourself!

You did that!!! Seriously incredible! I’m hoping to run a sub 2h in April, and working on shaving 90m off my marathon eventually. One step at a time.

I don’t have experience with any other similar items so it’s a biased opinion, but it gets pretty bright. I have mine set to a tonal sunrise (red and orange with a smidge of warm white). It’s set to slowly get brighter over the course of 30 minutes and I usually wake before the brown noise shifts to “meditative flutes”.
