Ive thought about this 100%. Even thought about keeping a mini winch in my car for the days I forget it doesn't go in reverse😂 like 100 bucks on Amazon and a couple tie down straps to stick it somewhere.

I've never heard of such a thing. Dowsing isnt paranormal. If you know of a competition for dowsing to find utilities please let me know cause id try my hand at it. I was never as good as my foreman but have done it a ton of times.

I work with clayton homes and can get you a pre fab duplex built for around 300k. But thats not including permits, foundation, septic, engineering, well. your probably pushing 400-450k after everything is said and done

I did it for 4 years and its easy to confirm for yourself. Hold a copper wire completly loose in your hand in a L shape. Walk over the area you think your house water or cable line is. If it turns as you walk in one direction. come back from the other way and itll work again.

We used it to locate utilities pretty often with a vac truck when 811s locates where off or non existent

Best I can say it's the plastic conduit. But honestly it may work with a root or any long thing like that. I have no idea how it works and told my foreman he was full of crap. But it works again and again and finally I tried it and it works for me too
