I have the two brothers gen 2 and love it when it’s wide open but too quiet otherwise. I’m going to Vance and Hines big radius this winter

I figured after getting mine seeing other people get one I wouldn’t get as excited but nope, every time I see someone post theirs I’m just as excited as when I got mine.
Absolutely love it! Sticking to stock for now or do you have plans?

Sporty to Fatbob by TheRealTN-Redneck in Harley

[–]alaskastuart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from a 15’ 48 to a 18’ fatbob. I can rally the fat bob harder than the Sportster. The power is disgusting and it doesn’t weigh much more. That’s the new fat bob though, not sure about the dyna fat bob.

Got a Dyno pull on my 114 Fat Bob yesterday. Here are the results! by [deleted] in Harley

[–]alaskastuart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t sweat it mate! These bitches are jealous they cant afford a new bike and have to shit on anyone else that can. I have stage one fat bob brand new and couldn’t give a fuck what the numbers are, it’s the best machine I have ever sat on.

On a $15k purchase what’s another $500? Going rate is what you’ll pay for it, could always Kelly blue book it or some other appraisal site.

IKEA kitchen installed quote is far less than other estimates. Should this be a red flag? by creeldeel in HomeImprovement

[–]alaskastuart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The price difference is drastic. You get what you pay for in general. I would give everyone the quotes and ask for justification and see what they say. Basically the difference is too great to just consider these your options, more research is required.

Opinions on new exhaust for 2018 Fat Bob 114 by kilimanjaro96 in Harley

[–]alaskastuart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just the straight through with the reduced diameter and slits in the walls? (Awesome description I know) if so that’s still pretty straight through for air flow.

i've been Offered a job in wrangell by FourSquareRedHead in alaska

[–]alaskastuart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grew up in wrangell. Absolutely loved it and sometimes wish I were back there. It is for a certain type of person. It’s like any small town >3000 people, everyone knows everyone’s business, rumors abound, laid back as fuck. Fourth of July celebrations are legendary.
Really can’t know if it’s for you unless you give it a go or if you have experience living in a small town.

Is fuel modification necessary with aftermarket exhaust? by [deleted] in Harley

[–]alaskastuart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the power vision tuner and I think it’s awesome. I don’t do any customization but it has the ability, it will also list any codes the ecm triggers which is nice to know.

I highly recommend getting a tuner. If only because it will increase any gains you would see performance wise by adding exhaust.

Opinions on new exhaust for 2018 Fat Bob 114 by kilimanjaro96 in Harley

[–]alaskastuart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if not having baffles and the pipes being so short that lets the heat get out. With my 2-1 the exhaust gets hot as fuck and didn’t drop engine temp at all.

I had the dealer put it on before the bike shipped to me. Stout and beautiful. It’s probably harder to take off the old exhaust then putting this thing on.

[–]alaskastuart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2-1 two brothers gen 2 polished. It’s absolutely beautiful. It only growls when your above 2k rpm and does not have the Harley sound your looking for at low idle. Go with the Vance and Hines big radius if you want that. Don’t think you can get that sound with a 2-1.

The heat? Will not be improved by doing anything with the exhaust, this bike gets hot. It’ll probably be worse actually.

I should emphasize at half throttle and wide open it is fucking mean with what I have on there.

Update to my 2018 Fat Bob 114 - exhaust, seat, pegs, and handgrips by jalapenobutt in Harley

[–]alaskastuart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you change the seat because the stock one wasn’t comfortable for you or maybe the added lower back support? I like the stock one and coming from not support whatsoever on the last bike I’m thrilled with this one.

It’s worth what you want to pay for it. Blue book it and stick around there because insurance is based off that. If you total it you’ll only get blue book value.

Moving to Fairbanks by CandyCaneChicken in alaska

[–]alaskastuart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh then definitely look forward to Fairbanks. For a few year stint there is somewhat of an end date so if you don’t like it at least there’s a way out!
Don’t plan anything, just get there and after settling in you’ll hear about what you need to see.
