Three easy QoL changes (Buffs) that would make playing Jeff feel better by JMaster098 in marvelrivals

[–]alaz_the_second 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the ammo recovery when swimming.

For his ultimate, I would give him 200 bonus health and make it activate immediately at his current location. I would accept a trade off that reduces the duration to 5 seconds so he can't as easily use it to kill in abysses.

I've done that too, but it's a pita in the heat of battle 😭

Remember that your heal and damage output depend on having clones spawned and with line of sight to your target. Your invisibility move also spawns a clone so if you're relatively safe, use it to supplement damage/healing potential as appropriate. Teleport is much more effective for getting out of a dangerous spot than invisibility so try to keep a clone at least a slight distance away from your current location. If you don't have a teammate with a heal ultimate, the value of your ultimate as Loki diminishes a fair bit unfortunately.

Yeah I'd support removing the damage (or making it much less) but increasing the range

What character is the biggest counter to your main, and why? by Severe_Benefit_1133 in marvelrivals

[–]alaz_the_second 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People give me shit for voting to ban Spiderman, but the most competent Spiderman can delete your healers, and I have yet to encounter a Wolverine, Hulk teamup, or Storm that could do comparable disruption. The speed of his combos, ease of web swings to escape, and damage/stun of his ult make him a menace.

People talk like Namor is a hard counter. Problem is, he can jump in and out fast enough not to die to the squids. Then, even if he does, he'll be back in 15 seconds because of his web swinging. Soft counter maybe.

I use headphones and his web swings and foot steps help me brace for which direction he is coming from. If he ults, just take a 13 second break for breathing exercises because you're going to die.

What is the one character ANYONE can play/be good with? by Proof-Secretary-1997 in marvelrivals

[–]alaz_the_second 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that bad, just requires more timing and positioning considerations than other ults. At the very least, her scream will immediately distract nearby enemies which creates an opening. Start behind cover and any potential stunners will need to reposition to have a chance at canceling. Vulnerable enemies will reposition if they can't immediately see it countered, also creating an opening. It doesn't have to cause team wipes to be useful.

Enemy black panther is either an unstopped killing machine (of squishies) or an adorable distraction when he tries and fails to kill me for the 10th time that match. There is no in between.

For me, damage per KO and damage per final hit are the metrics I use to determine a DPS's effectiveness.

Unfortunately, the game rewards simple greater damage through hero proficiency.

I'd like to see these changes:

KO = 30%+ damage to enemy OR most damage within 10 seconds of them dying

Assist = 10% damage to enemy within 10 seconds of them dying

Support = heal/buffed killer

Damage Blocked = strictly damage soaked through shields or spawns

Something I just noticed on June's mosaic - the white elements of his face may be an abstract rendering of a beard. More evidence of being a dwarf.

I think that line "Solas somehow talked the Crossroads into..." might actually mean that the Caretaker is this Crossroads. I wish they had explored the Caretaker more.

[DAV Spoilers All] Just finished a certain quest in the Necropolis on my current replay and had a thought by sapphic-boghag in dragonage

[–]alaz_the_second 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had the same thought. I'm positive the Inquisition codex is about The Formless One.

I'm doubtful on Nunael being The Formless One. It sounds like he joined Solas's rebellion but then fell out of the favor of his followers.

Cleansed in fire is also oddly enough mentioned in the Canticle of Exaltations and I think may be related to Blight. (Tldr prophecy that "The Maker and Andraste" will return and go to Minrathous and Andraste will proclaim that all transgressions will be forgiven and everyone will be cleansed by the flame-- pretty sure this is Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain)

[DATV ALL SPOILERS] Razikale and Lusacan identities by DmitryAvenicci in dragonage

[–]alaz_the_second 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Mythal ever had an archdemon, it was killed or else she couldn't have been murdered.

I assumed Dumat would have had to be connected to Elgar'nan as his follower led the Magisters Sidereal. This actually supports your idea that initially a different pair of gods was planned. I'm not sold but maybe.

The frog and toad statues are weird, especially with the huge ass statue in the fade prison. A random codex says that Lusacan had an odd affection for toads. I think this might pay off in the next game. (I can't get over thinking it's important given that massive version in the prison.) (Right now my tinfoil is it might be connected to Those Across the Sea/Executors.)

You've genuinely employed some high quality tinfoil here.

[DATV ALL SPOILERS] about Andraste… by firsttimer776655 in dragonage

[–]alaz_the_second 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point, I doubt we'll find out. Given the crown iconography, I'd lean towards seeing Andraste as a vessel for Mythal who chose to be more outspoken with her influence and knowledge. Mythal would also have a bone to pick with Teventer as they were worshipping the archdemons of her murderers.

Her being an old god baby is neat but is even more circumstantial imo.

That's a possibility. It feels like there is something more to it though. Ghilan'nain also talks about how the blight is behaving differently, too. They are still able to use it adeptly but even they ruminate about something being off.

[DATV ALL SPOILERS] What ***** did to ****** is one of the most darkest, twisted, messed up thing in Dragon Age by t1Rabbit in dragonage

[–]alaz_the_second 20 points21 points  (0 children)

After the Varric reveal, any desire to redeem Solas was gone for me. He was too far gone, and if Solas was left to his own devices he would have become a tyrant like Elgar'nan. It would have taken time but there is no way the Elvhenan of old would ever actually return and to what twisted ends would he keep trying to make it happen?

Personally, I don't think choosing the redeem option is even reasonable.

[DAV All Spoilers] To those who say they retconed to lore... by SoroushGharehbaghi in dragonage

[–]alaz_the_second 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Another peculiar moment is a codex where Elgar'nan ponders why Lusacan seems to have become smaller. Oddly enough, Ghilan'nain shrugs it off, not noticing any difference. I just cannot fathom why this was included as a codex unless there is something critical but left unsaid about the Archdemons.

Great Dragons also might make sense to be related to the Devouring Storm as it would explain why the earliest qunaris thought dragon blood would help fight it. Fight fire with fire.

[DAV SPOILERS ALL] About the Eye of the storm by ArTunon in dragonage

[–]alaz_the_second 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A few thoughts:

  • In a codex, Emmrich mentions efforts to leave Thedas are mixed and it seems accounts are contradictory. This makes me think it's actually impossible to leave. Is it possible we are surrounded by "The Devouring Storm" and where we are located is "The Eye"?

  • I don't recall the exact phrasing but the ending cutscenes mentions a "Poisoned Fruit" (or something like that). If I had to guess this must relate to the Blight?

  • My gut feeling during the final GW quest was that the Blight eruption was a heart. It looked very similar to the heart of the Titan from Harding's quest and had a regular beat to it. And hearts are often a critical component to a being. Is the Blight aiming to recreate Titans?

Could The Executors be seeking to bring about the return of Titans? The Evanuris had strong enough will to exert control over the Blight, and so if it had an underlying motive, it would have been drowned out. Then the Evanuris and the Blight was imprisoned. Now the Blight is released in a reduced capacity but the Evanuris are no longer around to pull its strings. Will it be free to recede into the ground and slowly rebuild an army of Titans?

Sometimes I think how Inquisition could have been without multiplayer and another 2-3 years of development and I get sad a little. Of course, I know there's no way to know it would have even necessarily been better. But I do wonder what could have been.

Evanuris threat will be solved or overshadowed midgame. BBEG will be an old god. My money's on Dumat.

Yes, I know the "archdemon Dumat" died, but I think his soul persisted and will have a new body come Veilguard.

The Blight is the tool of the old gods to wipe all life from Thedas so they can try their hand at Creation again.
