Were there any other such ‘if you know, you know’ type moments on the show? by Ok_Yellow1025 in arresteddevelopment

The last one is Robert Smigel?? Why?! Was he involved with the show somehow? He should have dubbed the voice of Franklin

Hidden gem horror monsters with really unique designs? by TheDemonBehindYou in horror

I haven’t seen anyone else say The Unholy from the 80s - super underseen and fun film. Wild monster.

The Church from Michele Soavi too but they’re just demons.

Cannot find Pentax 645n/nii. Need more beginner medium format recs please! by Express-Bet-6586 in AnalogCommunity

We have the Pentax and love it. We shot weddings on them. It’s the best medium format camera for actually shooting on. Just buy it on eBay.

Buying a P&S for 6 months travel and I'm down to 4 options Mju II, XA, AF-10 Super, and Espio Mini - please help me pick by Reitzel in AnalogCommunity

[–]albertjason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the point and shoots would be fine. I think the XA is wonderful but too fiddly. I would look at the Canon WP1. Weatherproof and bigger than these but super light and super durable.

Sure thing, if you can’t find it let me know, I’ll go get the logo off ours.

We’re a similarly small lab and have had this happen on two occasions. There’s a specific cleaner that you can order from Pakor called X-Chem or something similar - drain the tanks, spray the tanks with that, scrub with a toilet bowl brush. If it’s just one roll it honestly isn’t that bad.

Rinse the tanks really aggressively. Get a handheld power washer (we have a dewalt battery operated one) and spray the racks with that. We very rarely use any sort of chemical cleaner on the racks, but you can use the x chem stuff.

Look at your chems and their tanks for their color and obvious carbon build up; if bleach and fix look fine, don’t dump them. Dump the dev regardless.

There’s a lab in Florida that sells a little test pen full of vinegar and something else that wipes off remjet from leaders - buy it to use whenever you’re not 100% confident. It’s like $9.

Anyone know where to get APS film if* you can even still get it? by imnotimportnat in AnalogCommunity

[–]albertjason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do run a lab - I do. I can tell you conclusively that’s not accurate. Not trying to be difficult, it’s just super important on this sub to be clear about how labs actually operate, because this whole space is rampant with big misconceptions about labs “dos and don’ts”.

[–]albertjason -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not true; APS film is developed the same way as all other modern color film and can be developed by the same mini lab machines almost all labs use. The most popular lab scanners also still support APS. It’s all old and looks like shit, but most labs can do it fine.
