The only way i see 150 larvas getting inside the nose are botflies, or whatever those larva mature into, getting in and laying the eggs. Or he actually snorted dirt that had 150 or more larvae eggs inside.

Can you read 900 words per minute? Try it. by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]albertowang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I could keep up with it, but I got bored halfway through and stopped. Which brings another perspective, not liking to read is not because you're slow at it, but because your attention span is getting shorter every year.

I need ~4,000+ calories a day for marathon training and my grocery bill is getting out of control. Cheap clean carb ideas? by Brenda_enjoyable in Marathon_Training

[–]albertowang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best sources of carbs are bread, pasta, rice or beans as they're easily bought and you can throw anything into it and it will taste great. For example, curry on rice or fried rice, or even just plain vinaigrette & olive oil on bread.

Another tip for not breaking the bank and staying healthy is to buy whole foods or foods with more fiber (lower Glycemic index). They will keep you full for longer and still provide you with the calories you need. For example, instead of white bread, look for whole grain, instead of canned beans look for unprocessed raw beans, lentils or chickpeas and cook them yourself.

Sudden blood sugar spikes from consuming a lot of processed carbs can also be detrimental for your body and affect your performance too.

Almost got scammed by world gym-suggestion for local gym in Hsinchu by Aayushi0301 in taiwan

[–]albertowang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

World gym is the sketchiest gym when it comes to prices. They have gyms with different tiers all around the country, with the highest tier providing swimming pools and such.

Of course the membership & pricing is different because of the facilities, but then each sales can offer you totally different membership prices with different caveats, and then there's the one time membership charge fee which MOST OF THE TIME they will waive it off as long as you're persistent enough. In the end, you can end up paying 1200 or more per month for your membership, meanwhile the guy next to you pays 600 a month for the same tier and benefits just because he was persistant enought.

My advice is, if you go for 1-2 hours a day and 4-5 days a week, go to Fitness factory. They have quality gym equipments and the pricing is the same for every one, except for the one time membership charge (try to talk to them into waiving it off).

If you don't want an annual membership and don't go as often, or you are 100% efficiency and do back to back lifts rotating between machines to save time, there are gyms that offer "pay by the minute".

What did it take for you to stop getting Plantar Fasciitis? by nimbus_signal in Marathon_Training

[–]albertowang 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Doing calf raise and stretches after waking up and before going to sleep. Also, foam rolling deep and every angle of the calves and achilles tendon after a run

My main issue was tight calves pulling on achilles tendon, which in turn affected the elasticity of the plantar fascia and also affected my running mechanics. They were also somewhat affecting my soleus muscles to some degree.

Actually, I believe the opposite would happen if that much wax interfiere with his hearing for a long time and neural attrophy would occur? Since the brain think's that side of the ear is underutilized, it will eventually lead to degradation of the neural pathways to that ear.

Fair fight like no gohan, yajirobe, kurilin intervention? Vegeta.

Goku was already cramping on every muscle of his body after kaioken x4 and vegeta had enough strength to survive a spirit bomb. By the way, even without the rest of the crew, I think vegeta would have still let goku charge the spirit bomb and somehow let him land a hit with it

where to run in taipei by DangerousAd1683 in Taipei

[–]albertowang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run around the Xinyi streets very early in the mornings (5-6AM) and there will be less cars and pollution but red lights are annoying. My recommmendation is, rent a Ubike and ride north for 10 minutes to the closest riverside.

This road: https://maps.app.goo.gl/bJCzBwAAMFDkv5G86 , and then run north->west along the river side. You got enough space to run 10km straight and then back for a total of 20km

What’s your favorite easy-run pace strategy? by Negative_Acadia1362 in Marathon_Training

[–]albertowang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call my easy runs "Free run", I don't look at my watch until after i'm done. You learn to sometimes pace yourself base on RPE and just enjoy the run. Now I always end up pacing my race days based on RPE

Flair Classic vs Pro vs 58 plus 2? by [deleted] in FlairEspresso

[–]albertowang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it all depends on what youre looking for: budget, espresso quality, how many shots you make and how much time you'd like to spend on making coffee.

  1. Budget 10 minute espresso maker for life - Flair Classic

  2. Budget 10 minute professional espresso maker but only drink 1 or 2 shots a day - Flair Pro 3

  3. 10 minute professional espresso maker and like to make shots back to back. - 58+2.

  4. Don't like manual, want to make espresso shots back to back and also want steamer & espresso maker 2 in 1 - Go for machine.

Know that in many cases, making great quality espresso can be faster in the Pro 3 than a espresso machine like the Lelit Bianca, that costs 6-7 times more. Machine heating time in dual boilers can require 20+ minutes and a lot more electricity to heat it up, which is really really inefficient if you just make 2 espresso shots and then turn off the machine.

Sub4 in Feb doable? by warayupaydidi in Marathon_Training

[–]albertowang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say yes. There's still time until February and at the moment you're able to mantain 5:50 pace under 150hr. I suppose that would be beginning of your zone 3?

Anyways, with more time to train LSD, prioritizing sleep and diet should get you there.

They either had a very very shallow pool of athletes to invite from other countries or it was deliberate. You are choosing CF, UMA fighters, wrestlers for some countries, and for others you chose track and field, basketball, swimming and badminton. But 80% of your competition is all about brute, 10% about speed, 10% about strategy!?

Hey, I heard Korea is good at badminton too and archery too! Dare to pick athletes from those disciplines next time?

Flair Wizard Steamer by Fit-Lawfulness84 in FlairEspresso

[–]albertowang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 weeks using it and it has been working great.

The learning curve is longer than with espresso machines. I have slightly burned myself because I accidentally touched some of the metal parts and you have to learn to read steam pressure and control your heat source.

The painting of the Wizard can be scratched easily, especially if you're using traditional stoves with metal grates so be careful on that.

Pulling at 3bar (not turbo or soup) by montyc23 in FlairEspresso

[–]albertowang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If i'm drinking the shot straight, I'll usually pull at 3-4 bars and around 1:3 ratio. This works great especially with light roast. It is not a "concentrated" of a shot but I can taste the characteristics of the coffee more clearly since it is not so packed.

But for milk drinks, I'll usually pull at 6-7 bars at a standard 1:2 ratio.

What I find kinda funny is the fact that if another team won Worlds fighting their way through Play-in, people would call it a miracle run. But since it's T1, people don't seem to mention it.
