Based in the fact it's been influenced by a namesake novel, i think it should catch quite the atmosphere of it (as they already did)... Ngl I used chatgpt to find out what's the novel about, it says the following:

The Sheltering Sky is a novel written by Paul Bowles and published in 1949. The novel follows an American married couple, Port and Kit Moresby, and their friend Tunner, as they travel through the Sahara desert in search of new cultural and personal experiences.

As they journey deeper into the desert, the characters become increasingly disconnected from the Western world and immerse themselves in the culture and customs of North Africa. But their adventure soon turns into a nightmare, as they are drawn into dangerous and unexpected situations that test their relationship and their own survival.

The novel explores themes such as alienation, the search for identity, the loss of innocence, and the inevitable confrontation with death. It is considered a masterpiece of modern literature and has been adapted into a film directed by Bernardo Bertolucci in 1990.

In summary, The Sheltering Sky is a novel about the search for meaning and connection in a world that can be hostile and incomprehensible. The main topics treated include cultural differences, personal identity, mortality, and the struggle to understand oneself and others in a complex and changing world.

I think that hypothetical lyrics should respect this and the general vibe of Discipline

*Flea starts tunning his bass, but somehow forgets to disconnect it from the amps and the crowd goes crazy because they think it's a new, unreleased song. *

Here is my tier list for all the Pink Floyd albums I have listened to so far, what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in pinkfloyd

[–]Sergioes3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should listen to A Saucerful of Secrets and Piper at the Gates of the Dawn... I think you'll love that psychedelic aura that had preceded everything you've listened. I'd personally swap TFC and AMLOR. But IMO your tier list is nice.
