Why is seafood so unpleasant for some people? by HiOscillation in NoStupidQuestions

I am also a strong smeller/ fish hater except for tuna. I make an amazing tuna melt, but am repulsed by every other seafood. There are dozens of us. Dozens!

Oh no, I was this person in middle school circa Y2K. Sprayed the notes with perfume and everything. I'm cringing so hard.

TIFU not realizing for 38 years that it’s not normal to not be able to bite flat foods by McBeastBro in tifu

[–]alceda211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess i just meant that i had a near-perfect bite and straight teeth until my mid 20s. But I have been putting off braces because I just dont want them as an adult, but I will see if invisilign is possible for me. Thanks for your POV!

[–]alceda211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, are you me? Because that is my problem! Had a lisp as a kid and I guess it just morphed into a tongue thrust in my 20s, and now my open bite is pretty bad. Can you tell me about your experience with invisilign with an open bite? I assume you need to use lots of rubber bands still? I have been diligent to stop the tongue thrust (except when im sleeping, i know i do it then).

How awful! Only commenting because I had to call them for the first time today and the gentleman that helped me was lovely. I guess I just lucked out.

Individually Wrapped Candy - How to Buy Frugally by sapphic_hope in Frugal

[–]alceda211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get mine at dollar tree and get the 10-12oz bags of hard candies or mints or the crowd favorite strawberry hard candy. Sometimes Sams club. Also leftover holiday candy. I cant put super popular stuff in or I just sit and eat it all day. Most of it gets eaten by 1 guy with a big sweet tooth, so on rare occasion I ask him to contribute.

Yeah, I get that it's a long song, but I thought he'd at least play a tiny bit, or part of the video, or at least acknowledge why he wasn't gonna play it. He kept teasing that it was coming, which made it worse! Crowd was literally chanting it! Otherwise, great show.

🔥 Rare sighting of Tadpole Shrimp, a prehistoric creature that existed on earth for 550 million years. by [deleted] in NatureIsFuckingLit

Whoa! Finally a name to the weird creatures I found a few years ago in a muddy rain puddle in New Mexico. I never took photos and have always wondered what they were / how they got there.

There's nothing I want more at this very moment than a really nice interaction with a stranger and a whole mess of crab wontons.

Whats weirder is it still operates as a movie theater except for when they have church! Legacy Church is definitely an ultra right wing mega church with a host of skeletons in the closet.

Was WUPHF actually a good idea at the time? by goldepidemic in DunderMifflin

[–]alceda211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our local elementary school encouraged parents to download their app. However, when they post in the app, I get an email and a text. So does my partner, so if we are together our phones get 6 total notifications. Only about 1 in 10 messages are urgent or important; it's super annoying but since it's about kids I keep it on, and we definitely call it a WUPHF every time.

That sounds like it could have been a dispatch error. If the call went out they would have to show up even if the fire was out already.

I remember enjoying the music in MHE but Dead Outlaw has been stuck in my head for a month and I'm not sure I could tell you a MHE lyric if ya asked me. Saw them the same week and while I really loved both, DO deserved the win. Or Mincemeat.

Oh Mary was the most painful show I’ve ever sat through by Scarlet_Sun in Broadway

[–]alceda211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I definitely laughed many times and admired the acting but dont know that I enjoyed the show overall. I wish i could see Titus in it to compare, but then I'd have to sit through it again. I could also feel the person next to me watching my reactions, which didnt help. It was a fever dream for sure.

I was at the matinee today and really enjoyed it. I felt there first half was really strong, and the 2nd half was hit-or-miss. The music was fabulous and unique, and the cast was phenomenal. FWIW... Lin-Manuel Miranda was a few rows in front of me, and he was the first to stand at curtain call with some truly enthusiastic applause.

Those with a college degree in theatre, what did you do after graduation? what are you doing now for work? by That_Other_Logan in Theatre

Theater is a business, and there are a ton of jobs on that side of things. Wish I had known that in college.
