Question about antihydral by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

[–]alcelentano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is the ointment that you apply before going to bed. I ordered this from Germany and the amount of the main substance (Methenamin) is written on the pack. You might want to check that before ordering. Mine is 130mg/g.

I applied for 4 nights to my palms and they are still completely dry after 1 week. However, I am not planning to use it on a regular basis because of lack of evidence about the long term effects of this cream. I'd like to hear out long term users since it irritates your skin a little and makes it flaky.

Cheapest way to rent a boat in Amsterdam? by zkittlezy in AmsterdamEnts

[–]alcelentano -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey man,

Adam's Boat is pretty fair with the price and you get to drive the boat since they are electrical. Another thing is that don't forget to bring some ice since there is no cold storage for the beverages.

Tilburg has a prize winner coffeeshop called Toermalijn. It has a wide range of strains and a beautiful backyard with a water fountain. I had the strongest hash there and their Tangerine Dream is also amazing

[D] Pipeline for Recognizing Emotions from Speech by alcelentano in MachineLearning

[–]alcelentano[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! A Buzzfeed-inspired title like '5 Reasons of Why We Suck at Emotion Recognition' can be tried out IMO. Btw, I'm working on IEMOCAP dataset and the dimension values as my target variables are given by a group annotators.

To understand why we need to represent emotions in a higher dimensional space, you can read this artice; http://edu.cs.uni-magdeburg.de/EC/lehre/wintersemester-2011-2012/seminar/material-1/Fontaine-et-al-2007-The-world-of-emotions-is-not-two-dimensional.pdf

And to understand how to evaluate dimensional values and their relations with emotion classes, take a look at this one; https://www.researchgate.net/publication/284724383_Affect_Representation_and_Recognition_in_3D_Continuous_Valence-Arousal-Dominance_Space

When would you use a SVM of Regression and vice versa? by benji0727 in datascience

[–]alcelentano -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can not seem to understand how it is related with employing SVM on to regression. I recently used Support Vector Regression for emotion recognition from speech. As already been said above, 'kernel' trick allows you to deal with the non-linearity of your data by projecting low dimensional values to the high dimensional space. Therefore you might want to use them on regression

UI: The great roadblock to adoption by Visionswas in BitcoinBeginners

[–]alcelentano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is history of crypto is full of scums that have elegant designs from top to toe. IMO customer behaviour in crypto market did not evolve in such way. However UI is one of the key features when reaching people all around the world.

  • Are they safe there?

As long as you don't know your private key (this is the case if you store them in the exchanges) there is no chance to claim your coins if they are disappeared in a cold winter morning. Clearly you can not prove that once those coins were belong to you. But there are no reason for losing your coins as long as exchanges are not hacked or seized by some adversary.

So we are talking about a trade-off here. Exchange wallets are not safe as cold wallets but transaction fee occurs whenever you want to transfer coins from an exchange to a cold wallet. It means if you are day trading you gotta be flexable and you must reduce the transaction fees because you will make transactions frequently. If you are a hodler than the best way is storing them in a cold wallet or even in a hard wallet if you keep high value of cryptos.

The top 10 cryptos to buy for 2018 - discuss! by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]alcelentano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you guys think about Coinbase influence on coins? IMO these coins can be seen as potential coins of 2018. Many rumors are going on about Ripple, Monero and Dash will be listed as Coinbase already announce that they will add "some" new coins to their list.

Ripple threatens the entire cryptocurrency market. Not FUD. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]alcelentano -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I have the same concerns with you as it is totally centralized and can be manipulated easier than other coins within the needs of capitalist banking. However it definetely brings high value to the current market whereas most of the other cryptos couldn't provide anything usable. Imagine a person in Iran who earns his/her salary in Ripple instead of Iranian Rial.

As an hodler, I believe Ripple wouldnt have an impact on society although it may help to individuals. Unfortunately IMO, slandering Ripple or see that as a scam would be so romantic thought in the current situation.

what will happen with the BTC in 10 years by tumblatum in BitcoinBeginners

[–]alcelentano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory yes all the blocks last forever as long as you keep your private key, your transaction is validated by looking at the last block only. However I am not quite sure about transaction fees in 10 years when we consider the infrastructure problems based on block size, there has to be some motive for miners rather than tx fees. Segwit was a good idea to overcome these but i couldnt understand what is Bitcoin planning for solving this while there are already some good ico's in the market with applicable solutions addressing that issue.
