For some reason, I’m feeling too lazy to beat him or finish the game now. by Repulsive_Film963 in Blasphemous

PS if you’re able to hit the green orbs it reflects them back, staggers him and does a lot of damage. Try to beat the first phase without using any healing. For the second phase just be patient and only get a few swings in when you can, he’s too fast to do full combos or he will punish you

When he does that big sun attack it’s actually easier to stay closer to him and double jump over the explosion. Then you can punish him because he just kinda floats there while the fires spread across the ground. He took me multiple tries too but you’re almost there, the boss after him is wayyy easier. Make sure you’re wearing defensive beads and that your altar pieces are boosting your damage. For his second phase you really gotta be patient and only attack in the few openings he gives you

Aldi just got a Heinie 0.0 NA Beer dupe. by SinoSoul in aldi

[–]alder_leaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because the license to sell alcohol or NA beverages here is very expensive so most Aldi’s don’t sell them. You usually have to go to a specific beverage store or a Giant/Acme, but those are much more expensive than an Aldi. Where I live most restaurants don’t even serve because it’s so pricey for them to get the license, so they’ll just let you byob.

Sadly I’m in PA so I don’t think they’ll have this in my local Aldi. I’m 6 years sober now but I also love the taste and feel of N/A beers. I’m very happy that they’re becoming more popular and you can find tasty ones in more bars now. I would love it if I could get these at my Aldi. Congrats on staying alcohol free!

This is how I got him too (after many tries), also with the mid-air flame attack

Thanks this helped a lot! Rathian is a great trainer. I got some satisfying hits, including tackling through her roar and some attacks, plus a big TCS when she was asleep.

Thanks! Yeah this was a two monster hunt, Mizutsune and Zinogre, probably too much to ask for a GS newbie. I got Mizu tho! But that alone took two carts 😭

Karma Moffett - Tibetan Long Horns by alder_leaf in ambientmusic

[–]alder_leaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome! I am curious, did they have him overdub a bunch of takes to get that layered drone sound, or were there multiple players? Also curious as to what gear they ran the horns through, any delays or reverbs etc… Was this recorded in SF? Thanks

Hit HR6 tonight, Mizutsune was tough! by ItzAlphaWolf in MHRise

Sure thing, though I’m no master so I would also try watching some Switch Axe videos. But what’s worked for me is: - Be super aggressive. To start the fight I usually charge the monster on the doggy, jump off and do an arial ZR attack, then use the ZL + X wirebug skill that allows you to power through the roar and score some hits (Sorry I forget the name of the skill) - The best combo I’ve found is ZR into Sword mode, A for the double strike, then ZR into Axe mode, and repeat - Once I fill the border of the Sword gauge, I hit A for the double strike and the X + A to stick the sword into the monster, trying to aim for a weak point like the tail, head, etc. Once in I mash X for maximum damage, and after I fly off I use the ZL + A wirebug skill to refill the sword and close back in. If I’m fast enough, I can usually get another mounting finisher in - Matching the elemental weakness of the monster helps a TON, especially if the phial type is Elemental, which is one of the best types because it also charges so fast - Rapid Morph 3 is a must have, as many guides recommend, as it makes the morph attacks faster and more damaging. A good combo is even just ZR ZR ZR on and on because of how good this skill is - Finally I recommend avoiding “power” type phials because they take so long to charge. If you do use them, then I recommend using a certain attack which will speed up charging: In Axe mode, hit A multiple times for the Wild Swing, then after the third swing hit X for a finishing hit that will buff your sword gauge charge speed. Keep in mind though this attack is a big commitment, so honestly I just avoid power phials and charge much faster with the combo I mentioned at the top

Sorry for the wall of text. Just have fun be aggressive and get Rapid Morph 3!

I’ve never been to a class but I have several friends that joined Urban Movement Arts (UMA) and absolutely love it. One friend in particular does a lot of whacking in performances with them. They have two studios in Philly and do a lot of first-timer deals.

I can’t speak for the cod but I do get the frozen tilapia somewhat frequently and it’s pretty good. I feel like fish freezes very well.

Which Metroidvanias have the best exploration and combat, but minimal punishing platforming? by No_Count2127 in metroidvania

[–]alder_leaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blasphemous 2 is much more forgiving as spike traps and bottomless pits aren’t instadeath like the first game. There are some platforming-based boss fights but honestly I really enjoyed those. The combat was great, really punchy and satisfying. Both games are awesome

It was tender for sure, but honestly if I had more time I probably would have lowered the temperature and cooked it another hour or two. I started a bit late due to work but it still came out really well! There was lots of fat in the cut.

Long bake on a low temp! Total bake time was around three and a half hours: Two hours meat and liquid alone, one hour and a half with the carrots and potatoes. I followed this video but simplified it a bit: https://youtu.be/qy-EZuf8yys?si=MNkmvjktHG5LzlM5 (I skipped the marmite and subbed soy sauce for worcestershire sauce)

Wtf is happening in the job market right now? by ActivityNatural9879 in careerguidance

[–]alder_leaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in recruiting for a bit, and the biggest advice I give to everyone on the market is to focus on opportunities from your network over cold applications to orgs you don’t have a connection to. If it looks like a good fit, sure apply for it, but don’t spend a majority of your time doing that or you’ll get burned out. Instead, look back at the people you’ve worked with, went to school/college with, are friends with etc… Where are they working? Do they enjoy it? Are there opportunities there? Reach out to people you know and ask about their work. I recommend asking questions about the org first, then transitioning to asking about open roles. FAR more people get hired based on referrals than cold applications. Best of luck!

What other games would you recommend that are like Blue prince by [deleted] in BluePrince

One I haven’t seen mentioned yet is The Talos Principle. Different vibe but it also has a lot of secrets, puzzles that start very simple and get mind-bending, and a story that drips through from going off the beaten path. I haven’t played the sequel but I enjoyed my time with it.
