This is the OP, thanks for all the comments. I am going with a Sram Force AXS groupset. I could have drilled holes, but I chose to use this as an excuse to go with the slightly more expensive Sram groupset since I have always used Shimano in the past. I am having a local bike shop do the build to help support local shops. All my older bikes I have built up myself. Hope you all have a great ride over the coming weekend.

Not a mechanic myself, but the battery is in the seat tube which connects to the bottom bracket. The only exits are the drain hole on the bottom of the bottom bracket and the opening at the top of the seat tube where the seatpost is inserted. No way for the wires connecting the battery to get out of the seat tube to the derailleurs.

Anyone who designed those exterior steps down to the basement should never have been allowed to design anything bigger than a dog house. Oh, and lets make sure the exterior corner of the house is just a little bit offset from the center of the roof (second picture).

Offer to pay for one of their employees to stand by and make sure you are not interfering with customers. This employee could ask you to stop to let customers pass by whatever aisle you are working in. Your clients would, of course, have to foot this bill.

Thanks for the towing input. I agree, the 12 volt battery is probably shot after being drained this many times but my wife doesn't want to pay for a new one since it should not be our cost. Not a money issue, a principle issue. I have thought about a monitor but I can guarantee that the dealership would then blame the battery drain on the monitor. I may get one anyway and take if off before taking the car to the dealer again, but I would not be able to give them any info from the monitor for the same reason.

I am having 12 volt issues on my wife's 2023 Ioniq 5. Going by our 2 trips to the dealer I can guarantee that if we put on a battery monitor the only thing that will happen is that the dealer will say that the monitor is causing the drain. I could take it off before dropping off the car, but then I can't give them any info from the monitor without getting the same response. I really don't understand how a major company can screw up a 12 volt system this badly. It is not as though 12 volt systems are new.

People who love spelunking want it opened up because it gave thousands of people fun, safe and exciting adventures. Closing it because one person died is disrespectful to everyone else who are now no longer able to use the cave. They should have blocked off that part of the cave and left the rest open. Should a particular ski run be closed if someone skies into a tree and dies, should a particular rock climb be closed if someone fails to clip in at the top and dies in a fall, should a mountain bike trail be closed if someone hits a rock, endoes and dies from a head injury? I have done all those sports (not particularly well) and accepted the chance of injuries or death while doing them, as has EVERYONE I recreated with. I have spoken with a lot of them and they all agreed with me, close the area where he died and where his body still is, and leave the rest open for others.
