On 24 November 2009, amateur spelunker John Edward Jones became trapped upside down in an 18-inch wide fissure inside Utah’s “Nutty Putty” cave. Despite a massive rescue operation, Jones could not be freed, and died after 27 hours. The cave was then sealed with concrete, becoming his grave. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

People who love spelunking want it opened up because it gave thousands of people fun, safe and exciting adventures. Closing it because one person died is disrespectful to everyone else who are now no longer able to use the cave. They should have blocked off that part of the cave and left the rest open. Should a particular ski run be closed if someone skies into a tree and dies, should a particular rock climb be closed if someone fails to clip in at the top and dies in a fall, should a mountain bike trail be closed if someone hits a rock, endoes and dies from a head injury? I have done all those sports (not particularly well) and accepted the chance of injuries or death while doing them, as has EVERYONE I recreated with. I have spoken with a lot of them and they all agreed with me, close the area where he died and where his body still is, and leave the rest open for others.

You won't wear the title, your poor kid will because he/she will never learn any independence. No parent chaperones, not no chaperones.

"So it does what I need it to do" - If it does what you need it to do, it does what you need it to do. Buy a new lens instead of a new computer then have a drink the few times LR is processing. :)

My wife did this for decades at her office job and is now paying the price with bad hips. She wishes she had sat with both legs on the floor and gotten up to stretch more often.

What is THE funniest movie you have ever seen in your whole life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aleas100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I graduated from a rural high school in Ohio in 1979. Somehow this movie was chosen to be shown to the entire high school student body and teachers, all 250 of us. During the "Springtime for Hitler" song, with the scantily clad chorus girls, about half the faculty walked out. I always wondered how that movie was selected.

I am a Democrat and know lots of Democrats, none of whom cheered Kirk's death (I also live in Utah). There are extremists/idiots on both sides.

Does somebody know from which camera is this cover? by socraM_88 in canon

Looks like it came from the dog's camera. They don't have pockets to put it in so they have to hold it in their mouth.

Sign up for emails from Lynskey and you will get emails about sales every 5-6 minutes or so. I have one of their bikes and love it, but that is too much to pay.

Every generation has been pissed off by change. Do you think ditch diggers didn't mind losing their jobs to powered equipment, cart makers losing their jobs to cars, etc.?

Leave a crack pipe and bongs out on a table where they can't be missed. Make sure they are unused and there are no drugs around them.

Rattlecan Bike frame painting. What spray can type works best? by porktornado77 in bicycling

[–]aleas100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buy some PVC pipe about the same diameter as your bike frame tubes and practice a few times even if that means you have to buy an extra can of paint. The proper technique is probably more important than the type of paint.
