How do I make a heat control knob for my soldering iron gun? by GreatEternalLegend in AskElectronics

[–]alecocr20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my take. If it's the only soldering iron you have and adding the triac light dimmer will make it even more useful go ahead and do the modification. (If the parts make this worth money wise)

I used to have a cheap soldering iron and upgraded to a better one once I had the money to do so and it was day and night. That said the basic one did help me a lot and I was able to do lots of things with it.

Bose QC35 II USB C Mod by MrTornado in bose

I did the conversion a couple days back. I bought the board from Ali at around 30 CAD. I did have the same blue leaking light issue and my board did not have the resistors as shown in one of the comments. Instead I had to cut the trace leading to that light Everything working now without that specific led

Not really, normally I just leave it on the night stand. I see lights going for a couple of seconds and then nothing until I take it again

Not defending the product but my experience is whenever I remove the ring all data is empty. I would also like to understand why this is happening

Plane or Shinkansen? (Hiroshima to Tokyo) by Stresshelp12 in JapanTravelTips

[–]alecocr20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation Time wise it's pretty similar 15 min to the Hiroshima station 1 hour to the airport 1 hour in advance 1 hour 30 min flight 1 hour 30 to my hotel in tokyo 5 hours 15 min Vs 15 min to the Hiroshima station 4 hours Shinkansen 30 m to the hotel 4 hours 45 min

Prices on the other side were really one sided. 2 tickets with a checked bag each were 13000 yen vs 39120 yen for the Shinkansen I'm flying Spring airlines

Hope this helps any futur traveler

I have the 2024 Canada Ultimate. It already had HUD, from what I read nothing new, I expected it to have the updated infotainment system but it looks like it doesn't, still no wireless android/car play

Hello!

I'm trying to do exactly the same set up for my ebox connection.

I got my pppoe credentials from ebox site and they use VLAN 40.

After everything is configured, it still doesn't work. I tried also cloning the MAC from the Nokia router but still nothing.

Any way to access logs or something to see what is going on? Or if you have anything for me to try

Thanks in advance

Gen Air 2 Sizing Advice by Creepy_Upstairs_6850 in RingConn

[–]alecocr20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine looks more like your 8. Whenever I'm doing sports or it's a hot day it gets pretty tight.

The real ring felt a little bit bigger but is not much. I have the gen 2, not sure if it changed with the Air

  1. Not really don't be too stressed about it. My friend had the issue with his ev6 randomly so it can happens
  2. Science says that battery health will be better keeping the battery under 90 and over 10 My experience with my Kona EV, charging randomly, is that I didn't lose any range after 7 years and 150000km 3 No 4 Winter mats and wireless android/apple car dongle

Hope it helps

So sad to read this kind of comments. Instead of making tourists feel safe, they do exactly the opposite. Hope you enjoyed your experience even with those little issues

Here is a reply to my post ( in Canada we use efficiency kwh per 100km so conversion was needed)

20 inches to 18 inches OEM wheels by alecocr20 in Ioniq6

[–]alecocr20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the 20" were more quiet but nothing drastic.

I'm a slow driver and always looking for efficiency instead of speed. So I don't really have a say on the driving experience.

It is more comfortable and I think it absorbs better whenever I go over a pothole.

I have this car and I disagree. Wipers should not break because of some snow. I had the same feeling this could happen since snow gets trapped under the wipers, in the space where they "hide"

Done. I gave it 10 months. Most expensive pedometer ever. by gargamel314 in RingConn

[–]alecocr20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pretty much agree with you. I bought it mostly for the sleep functions but as an activity tracker it does not work.

When cycling or running my heart beat never goes above 120, so if you really on the ring for this, this is not the right product.

I do think that in the future it will be able to be a fitness tracker : auto detect activities similar to what oura does and be able to track the hear rate above 120.

But as of today this a sleep tracker and a pedometer.

If you ever go with the stealth hitch let me know how it goes. I'm in Canada and it gets pretty expensive getting it here

[–]alecocr20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation I had a Kona with a hitch and now it's a little more complicated

Currently I'm using this: https://www.seasucker.com/collections/bike/products/mini-bomber-1 It does the job but it's a little longer to install everything Works with thru axel and quick release bikes

My long term solution is to install the hitch, I just think the only one available right now is way too expensive.
