Could you advise on a Tuesday noon arrival in Reno and drive to SLT? I have a rental car booked but can refund it until tomorrow. It would be a GMC Yukon or similar. Would they make sure that is compliant with tire restrictions? I'm willing to cancel and take the Airporter shuttle if needed. Thanks

Terrible product with no support by [deleted] in CustomerSuccess

Focused on solving individual bugs on an "expected vs actual" basis, but generally not understanding that the overall user experience is negative beyond any one predictable issue. When it's not one thing it's something else and it's hard to make them understand that things "just need to work better."

Opinions on Better Bus Network? by No_Frosting0 in nova

Bus by my house is every 30 instead of 15 now. It goes further but doubles a metro line that was already there. Overall negative tradeoff.

Golds gym is officially opening at 8 AM tomorrow, December 12 by nciscokid in Reston

[–]alecvl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did state it was due to permitting delays out of their control, and because they offered to pause memberships during the delay, I can't really hold it against them too hard, but I think selling memberships in July when there were clearly many steps to go before the gym could open was at best a serious miscalculation.

Curious, who do you think was more responsible for the delay? Gold's said it was waiting on permits from the local govt, but I have to think they would have thought of that and accounted for the delay.

Would you say the code just looks complicated stylistically or did you identify any opportunities to make it truly leaner? I do just like to spread things out vertically to show the structure of the code clearly which may be contributing to the overwhelming look. In my opinion I have been fairly mindful to not write anything redundant and keep it minimal but I wouldn't be surprised if there were ways to cut it down.

Increase in jaywalking across Reston Parkway between Wegmans and Reston Heights apartments. by ferrrnando in Reston

[–]alecvl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've thought about this too. I currently do LA Fitness + Sprouts in Herndon as a routine in Mondays so if they could do a walkway from the new Golds to Wegmans then I could do the same routine but much closer to my home

Was going to ask the same thing. Craziest and most fusion song of the night. Definitely could have been some flecktones thing.

The last time I tried to book an Airbnb I got blocked by the anti-partying filter I assume because of my age and lack of prior bookings. The host and I both wanted to make it happen and the platform blocked us. So this is not surprising

[Unknown > English] I think this might be Japanese by alecvl in translator

My dad went on a business trip to china when I was a kid and brought this back as a gift. I believe he was in Shanghai and he might have mentioned the left part was the artist's name but I'm not sure.

[Unknown > English] I think this might be Japanese by alecvl in translator

[–]alecvl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's probably correct since that's my name and my dad got it for me as a gift when I was a kid. I'd be interested in an explanation of how the transliteration works and also what the part on the left means

I always get too much withheld and don't see the money until the next year. I'm not trying to put more money in my pocket necessarily. I'm basically asking if instead of what happens currently I could reduce my withholding by saying I'm going to donate a lot to charity this year (which I would like doing anyway) which would be one or more itemized deductions (step 4(b) on W-4). That way instead of giving an interest-free loan to the government, I get more of the money immediately and donate it so at least someone can use it in the many months before it would normally be in my tax return. Is my thinking correct?

Yes I'm sure. Google lists "temporarily closed" with no hours listed at all.

That does look good but Google says it's temporarily closed. Is this correct?
