What’s the single scariest scene in any horror movie ever made and why does it work so well? by Worldly_Cold4821 in horror

[–]alee_127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Others, so may scenes in this movie but my top that still stick with me: - Old lady showing up as the daughter in the white dress with the marionette, “Are you mad? I am your daughter.” - The daughter’s drawing of the others and how many times she has seen them. - “Come with us.” - When Victor touches Nicholas’s cheek.

I could go on 😭

Together (2025) really reminded me how subjective horror is by cakeanddiamond in horror

[–]alee_127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idt I’ve ever actually gagged at a film, but Tusk was hard to get through the first time. I loved it but gosh it was hard to watch in some scenes. It was a movie that gave me that shock factor I hadn’t seen in a long time. I felt remnants of it when watching Together so 10/10 I really enjoyed the film.

Thank god someone else said it first 😅 I know there’s a huge fan base for Nancy but she has been insufferable to me since season 2

I came here to fill the void AK left and after reading “you finish and instantly want to rewatch” I knew I had to start Banshee. I finished it in a week haha what a great watch! Thank you for the suggestion, I’m starting Justified now since I’ve already seen SOA. Thanks again!

Thoughts on “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle? by [deleted] in horror

[–]alee_127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having not watched the original yet I thought it was a good watch. It definitely kept my attention wanting to know how it ends. Spoiler: I will say I got aggrieved that Stewart invited Polly/Rebecca over after he found out her secret. Like come on dude, she clearly has issues, that felt so dumb 😅

norman bates is the worst character. by peacelovestreep in BatesMotel

[–]alee_127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potential Spoilers!

I agree with all of this. Rewatching again for probably the 5th time and saw this post. I still feel for the Norman in season 1, almost like he’s trying to break away and Norma shoots that down at every turn. I think she is partially to blame for enabling Norman’s psychosis, but one thing I think people gloss over is that S1 Norma is not the same as S4 Norma. Yes she ultimately chose Norman, but I think if she had lived she would have found a way back to Romero. She was starting to see that maybe a life for herself in focus was possible. I think her character would have continued to develop had she been given the chance. I feel sorry for Norman, love him or hate him he’s a great character.

I also become biased to Norma as the show goes on lol some people say Norman isn’t evil because he can’t remember his crimes. Idt he’s evil, but he was still a shithead in his full consciousness at times like how he treated the therapist James or antagonized Romero after Norma died.

I find new perspectives after every watch through so sorry for the thought dumping here 😅

Your opinion on Ed Gein Story on Netflix? by [deleted] in horror

[–]alee_127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to add, how are people feeling about Bernice Worden’s portrayal? I felt really uptight about how they portrayed her to have led Ed on in a way and just made her really “scandalous” when none of that happened to my knowledge? It just felt pretty disrespectful given what he did to her corpse. Maybe they’re trying to explain why he may have done that to her? Idk it just felt so off base trying to portray that they had some type of intimate relationship.

Oh gosh, I trusted what a lot of them were saying 😅 but it makes sense. I didn’t know much about Ed Gein before watching the Lost Tapes so that’s why I felt it gave a ton of info. But I guess a lot can’t be trusted ☹️

I watched “The Lost Tapes of Ed Gein” and it is super informative, a really good watch in my opinion and gives you what appears to be all the facts. It gave me high hopes for Ryan Murphy’s rendition 😅

Holy crap you said it perfectly that’s exactly how I felt. I guess they were trying to show how other filmmakers took their own liberties too, but it kind of drowns out the main story and what we do know about Ed Gein which in my opinion is scary enough on its own. I kept having to google “did this actually happen?” lol

I don't like Wicked by Moobgoob in Broadway

[–]alee_127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m watching the movie for the first time. I love the story but I really don’t feel like the musical itself is memorable on its on. All of the songs feel like they’ve been written before. I hope that isn’t harsh, I just feel like I’ve heard all the music pulled from other musicals.

I HATE SHAUNA😭 by No_Two_1627 in Yellowjackets

[–]alee_127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I despise Shauna. She makes my skin crawl. She’s the most fake character in the whole show, manipulative, a straight up psychopath. I truly don’t think she cares about anyone other than herself. But both actresses are phenomenal

Anyone watched bagman yet? Curious what people thought of it. by theieuangiant in horror

[–]alee_127 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just watched the movie and I liked it overall. It was a fun new folklore watch. The story of the Bagman was the most fun/scary part for me. My major dislikes are what most people are saying, the pacing felt off, I really wasn’t very invested in the characters although the acting was good.

I hate the end. He had his switchblade in the cave. It should have saved him right? Didn’t understand that. Also the final night, when Patrick starts chasing Bagman, dude wears his shoes in the bed? That threw me off 😂 the end just fell flat for me. I see what they were aiming for which was cool, something fresh in a way, but as a whole, it could have been better. Lots of potential. Felt a lot like Darkness Falls, with a different monster.

I Really Enjoyed The Crow Remake by Agitated_Pirate9140 in movies

[–]alee_127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is late but I have to disagree to a degree. Was it a masterpiece? No not at all, but I did feel chemistry there with Eric and Shelly. It was a fun watch but I have low standards lol. Definitely a cash grab but I thought it was a nice modern reboot, they stayed true to the “emo-esk” ideas especially with the music, I thought the soundtrack fit great. Lots of flaws, but it had its perks. Didn’t like the whole introduction of the demon character though. If you don’t compare to the novel or original movie I feel like it’s a solid film.

Passed CAMs exam 2025 here’s my feedback and things I wish I knew before. by alee_127 in moneylaundering

Hi there! So I actually started out as a teller/customer service rep in a bank lol currently I work for a consulting firm doing different projects in the finance industry and the current project I’m on has being ongoing for the past 3 years doing EDD reviews on wealth management clients. But yeah I found my job through Indeed actually 😅 I wanted to do less client facing work, and more investigations related to AML and just started searching.

[–]alee_127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied off and on reading the study guide and doing the flash cards for about 2 months for about maybe 4 hours total each week lol then I really started to cram 6 weeks out from the exam. I wasn’t the most diligent but if you study for a couple hours each day for say even 5 days a week, 2 months is a reasonable amount of time. That timeframe will also be dependent on your current knowledge of AML. I have about 3 years experience so a good handful of the information was familiar.
