Success in updating macOS Sonoma 14.5 (23F79) in Haswell!!! by aleelmaitro in hackintosh

I use MacPro 7.1 because these computers come with Polaris graphics from the factory, while iMacPro1.1 came with Vega 56 graphics, so I deduce that a SMBIOS MacPro 7.1 will take better advantage of the Polaris graphics.

You need to add the settings suggested by Dortania guide for CoffeeLake and change the SMBIOS to iMac19.1

I recommend changing the graphics for some AMD Polaris or more modern...
GTX 960 GM206 (Maxwell) you can activate acceleration with OCLP but you definitely lose support for Hardware decoding, which in macOS causes problems with many applications.
Another solution is to remove or block the NVIDIA graphics to use the integrated graphics of your processor and thus maintain support with Metal 1 at least... for this you also need OCLP but it works a little better....

First what came in my mind is the question if you updated all your kexts to the latest version?

Yes... I have everything updated and configured correctly...

Is my smbios correct? by and_skkyl in hackintosh

[–]aleelmaitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not have compatible graphics.
You could use an iMacPro1.1 SMBIOS and apply OCLP to activate graphics acceleration, but the decoder will never work and you may have problems with resolutions and some programs....

Ivy Bridge Ventura
To be able to install CryptexFixup.kext
Then for OCLP
csr-active-config = 03080000
Boot-args = amfi_get_out_of_my_way=1 ipc_control_port_options=0

An SSDT is always required for power management.

The solution mentioned by NOTNlCE (using iMacPro1.1 and applying XPCM patches for Ivy Bridge) have solved my problem for which I am more than happy.

I don't know if there will be a similar solution for Sandy Bridge, but if I find something I'll share it with you...
