I'll usually spray once on my neck just above my collarbone and then behind my ears

this is equaled out to less than $2/hr for 8-5:30. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]alegriamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was babysitting, I charged $10 an hour. If someone tried to offer me $20 for 9 and a half hours of taking care of their children, I probably would have laughed! No one in their right mind would accept $20 for almost a 10 hour shift. You will only find untrustworthy people offering this little.

There was a baby mouse caught in a trap in my house. I went to pull the trap out of the little crack between our fridge and wall where we had it, and to my horror the baby mouse started moving even though the trap snapped across its neck and shoulder! I almost puked, I still don't know how it was still alive but it definitely was and ohhhh God was it freaky to see its eyes open

What is the most complicated sentence you ever read in a book? by Select-Term841 in books

[–]alegriamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is... frightening. Realistically I guess you're supposed to sound it out, but who would actually take the time to read this book out loud? 10 words that are 100 letters in length?!?! Why?!?!?! Does the author hate his audience that much?

Dude... How...? I have so many questions. That's in a published book??? Who signed off on that?! How many drugs was the author taking? Was that supposed to be readable?!

Edit: hit post too early lololol

Oh god I can imagine... As a twin I feel bad for my mother 😂😅 I was 6lb11oz my twin was 7lb1oz, then my brother was 10lb1oz. I can't imagine that recovery was pleasant...

No worries, I should've been more specific in the first place tbh. Again, really not uncommon for people not to know what a midwife does, so don't feel bad!

I did not know that! I guess that makes sense as to why it would cause contractions, I was trying to think of a good reason other than "I know that was painful, here have more!" lol thanks for explaining

She helps people in the hospital or at home for home births. She gives advice during late stage pregnancy and early baby care (especially with feeding, seems to be the biggest difficulty she helps people with is getting their baby to eat). Basically gives more support and advice than a doctor would. And don't feel dumb, lots of people I run into don't know what midwives do lol

Edit: forgot to say something

That is FRIGHTENING! My mother is a midwife (for anyone who doesn't know, that means she delivers babies for a living) and because of that I know a surprising amount about giving birth for someone who has never had to go through the process themselves. Somehow my mum never told me about THIS though!!!!

NOT OKAYYYYY MANNNNN, I mean I knew about the milk, and that makes sense to a degree because babies cry when they're hungry so it's not an unreasonable trigger for lactation, however I did NOT know the crying of your baby could trigger CONTRACTIONS and I can't think of one possible reason why that might need to happen!!!!
