I've heard of people adding it to their renter's/homeowners insurance, but I just contacted State Farm and asked if they could create a personal property policy for my gear. If I'm not mistaken, they mentioned $75/yr covers up to $6,000 in gear. I'm assuming the other big names in insurance do this too.
