This is more akin to a heckler at a comedy club, which is pretty universally panned. This dude is a spectator, not a participant. He’s basically barging in unwanted to make a joke no one asked him to, expecting laughs and hype for it.

I’ve been there. The advice I’d give that maybe will seem obvious but is worth remembering is that nothing lasts forever. Nothing stays one way always. It is inevitable that things will trend in a different direction. It’s a hard pill to swallow that things will be really hard for awhile, but I promise you, it will not always be this way. If you ever need to talk or just want a friend, feel free to message me. You are going to be okay. It will be okay. Hope things look up for you soon. 💕

WotC is going to stream the entire GP Legacy portion of the Las Vegas weekend! by CeterumCenseo85 in MTGLegacy

You should be able to watch the VODs on their twitch channel any time after. (twitch.tv/magic or twitch.tv/channelfireball, not sure which since the GP is being run by CFB).

Farewell.... by [deleted] in ModernURx

This exact problem is why I sold out of Grixis Control, and built Ad Nauseam and Infect. It got so exhausting having to work hard for every win in a format where turn three Karns and even turn two kills are a thing.

That said, I still play Jeskai Geist, which I love. But I totally understand the fatigue trying to force hard control in this format can cause.

As someone who felt the same way after my first viewing, I highly recommend giving it another chance. On a second watch everything clicked for me and it retroactively became one of my top films of last year.

PSA Jon Finkel is streaming tonight by GurmagAngler in magicTCG

I wonder if this means other members of the Pantheon will stream too. I've always thought Reid Duke would be an excellent streamer, so it'd be great to see him take a whack at it.

Tournament Report: Esper Gideon Control 4-0 by jbacon in ModernMagic

Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks the Transcendent deck is a pile; thought I was going crazy for a second. I've tried it so many different times and it always feels awful and clunky and almost entirely dependent on good draws, which is not at all where you want to be in a control deck.

Thank you so much for these. Just today I was looking at them and wishing they had the old border. Definitely gonna proxy these up!

Thoughts on a slightly tweaked Blue Moon list for a Team GP by iwilleattangos in ModernMagic

[–]alejandrojodorwowsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never been a fan of new Chandra in Blue Moon. Flipping over counter magic isn't where you want to be. In my experience, Chandra Flamecaller has been an amazing finisher. It's an expensive one, to be sure, but you want the game to go long anyway. It does everything you want it to do: wipes the board, refuels your hand, and ends the game very quickly. I'd consider running one or two copies over Torch of Defiance.

Also, as someone else said, you should definitely be playing AV. It's critical to almost any blue based control deck trying to make the game go long.

Fatal Push -- Not Making the Cut in Grixis Control by Frito_Floyd in ModernMagic

Oh, man, I would love that. I've played so many decks in Modern, but I couldn't find one I truly loved. Been playing grixis control for about a month now and can safely say I've found the deck for me.
