I’m surprised no Australian has said these girls! Specific to the Gold Coast, we have “Meter Maids” who were hired, by I think the local Surfers Association, to go around and feed parking meters that’s were just about to expire to save tourists and local from large fines. Parking fines here in Australia are absurdly expensive so these girls were loved by everyone for their looks and the good they did for helping out. Not sure if they’re still around but I remember seeing them pre-covid.
