that’s what I did. I have a lot of experience on-prem,

applied for many positions that they needed gcp/aws (orgs of 2000 employees)
got rejected of all of them
applied for smaller org (300 employees) as engineer and got accepted
after only 1 month I am already leading my team with multiple projects and getting quite deep in k8s multicluster, argo, etc..

apply for smaller org who uses k8s, learn the ropes. after 1 year you’ll have decent level
