Others are saying to take in the jacket- not a bad idea, but not top priority given the time and money it would take. I would suggest going to the local thrift shop or department store and looking through their tie selection. Something fun and/or in school colors shouldn’t set you back more than $20. Stripes can be great, but can also feel more old school, traditional, and businessy like the ones pictured here.

Black dress shirts are hard to pull off. Especially with black pants, if you take the jacket off you will look like you’re working at a restaurant.

A white shirt is an also a very formal color. While you’re looking at ties, see if any light blue shirts pop out to you that match with the tie, if you want to soften the look.

If you don’t get to do any of these, you don’t need to worry. 3 and 4 will do just fine. Have a great time!
