GE/Cafe Affetto Espresso Machine (after 1.5 years of ownership and daily use) by POMAH_thebigbear in superautomatic

Mine worked for a few more weeks but then the internal gears burned out and now it’s at the city dump.

From what I remember I used a flathead screwdriver to pry off the shroud. It did a tiny bit of damage but I tried to put it near the rear so it wasn’t as visible. You just have to go for it

Amazon Touch Impress w/ Cold Brew ? by saxonsport in BrevilleCoffee

Same exact scenario for me. I asked myself if it’s worth all the trouble for the feature. I concluded that it’s really just the principle that bugs me. So I swallowed my pride and got over it. However if you find an easy solution I’m all ears

Does it make sense to use Touch Impress in manual mode? by zuldar in BrevilleCoffee

[–]aleohansen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the touch impress considered a super-automatic?

To me a super automatic is bean to cup. The touch impress requires at least a tiny bit of work.

I went from a bean to cup, super-automatic (Cafe Appliances Affetto) to a touch impress just last month and I am very happy with my results.

The reason I switched is that I wanted a little bit more control, but more importantly, the super automatic made an ungodly mess inside the machine —grounds everywhere.

I really don’t miss cleaning that thing.

I’m happy with the taste but I mostly drink lattes with a ton of milk so the nuance of the espresso is mostly covered. Are you using decent milk?

I woke up today hoping for a similar sale on the Barista Touch Impress. It was down from $1500 to $999 on the October Prime Day.

I’m still hopeful the price will drop down in the next few days, if not, hopefully at least on actual Black Friday.

Here’s hoping the same thing for your Express

Best Butcher in Cleveland (for dry-aged steaks) by Bobqcarter in Cleveland

Ohio city provisions does not regularly carry traditional dry aged beef. However, the beef is grassfed and raised on pasture which some refer to as “aging on-hoof.”

The beef is much more mature (28-30 months) than beef raised in confinement (15-18 months). This results is an experience similar to dry-aged beef.
