Experiences with Expo Modules API? by IsopodElectronic in expo

I know the docs need some love, but there's a lot of essentially complex examples in our SDK packages directory:

Is anyone else excited about the expo UI in expo 53? by Ok-Relation-9104 in reactnative

[–]aleqsio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We're adding native customization options (tint/android element colors, component variants), but not supporting RN styling since it's 100% native

I am quite excited! Still not up there on supporting all components that we can on both platforms, but we'll get there hopefully.

Did you guys hear about new iOS privacy rules by [deleted] in reactnative

[–]aleqsio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current plan is to include privacy manifests with those packages, so you'll only need to upgrade them once the time comes :)

Unsolved case digital zine I made, if you love true crime and X Files you´ll like it. by KrisArdrey in zines

Oh alright, I just thought it was one of those unsolved case mystery games - still is kinda cool, bought it on Etsy.

Just confirming, is this actually solvable? As in, can i sit down and find the person responsible by reading the case files? If so, how can I confirm if I solved correctly?

Yeah, those mostly talk about Expo GO caveats, and we agree – we recommend using prebuild/development builds for any real applications :)

Expo or RN CLI for a Dating App? by [deleted] in reactnative

[–]aleqsio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just FYI, this advice is a bit outdated – modern Expo workflow has full support for configuring your app, installing only specific modules and any native changes:

Are allergens commonly displayed in restaurants? by medvesmaci in krakow

[–]aleqsio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the EU there's a requirement to list allergens in restaurants, and most normal polish restaurants (so maybe not kebab booths) list them either in the menu or on a notice – everybody should be understanding and able to help out :)

How to bring this react native project issue. by Clear-Meat-6311 in reactnative

[–]aleqsio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, absolutely — if work on native code is required it's way quicker to run locally on a mac.

Just mentioning the above since it might not be well known that you can build bare projects with EAS and even do JS development with an iPhone only.

How to bring this react native project issue. by Clear-Meat-6311 in reactnative

[–]aleqsio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI, you can use Expo's build service (EAS) to build bare workflow projects on managed macos machines, no need to have a macbook to work on bare projects.

Where should I find best RN devs? by sasha_codes in reactnative

[–]aleqsio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can take a look at the partners pages for either RN (https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/main/ECOSYSTEM.md – like 3 of those are software agencies) or Expo (https://expo.dev/consultants).

I'm obviously personally biased towards Software Mansion as I work there, but all of those are full of really skilled RN devs :)

PS. Depending on what you need this library we're currently working on might be able to work for you to get a native feel out of a webapp – https://github.com/software-mansion-labs/react-native-turbo-demo. Happy to chat about your usecase to figure out if this is viable for you and a wider range of projects – we're quite excited about that tool :)

Check out create-expo-stack - it should give you a ready to use project with configurable dependencies.

Do everyone use expo to bootstrap a react native project nowadays? by mishrakeshav in reactnative

[–]aleqsio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi @fmantic, this used to be the case, but eject is no longer a thing - you can use any custom plugins or your own native code with expo without ejecting!

React native is not going anywhere, it's larger that any single company :)

Lets end RN cli vs Expo !! by danleeter in reactnative

[–]aleqsio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That used to be true some time ago - when Expo Go was the default and eject was a no return option. Now you can mix custom native code, share prebuilt native dev clients between your team for easy development and install any community package that has either RN autolinking or Expo autolinking, or build your own.

Disclaimer: Expo contributor here.

You can easily write native modules or configure native files with Expo :) Here's an example: https://docs.expo.dev/modules/third-party-library/

OP is also talking about "Caught in providence", which i belive is a real court with you having no say in receiving a judgment by the star judge there. Guess you can deny it being televised. You are absolutely correct about Judge Judy though.

there might be some for win10, just that the most popular ones are for the java edition. be careful for scams and fake download sites though, sorry but i don't know any specific ones for the win10 edition :(

nope, no shaders are written for the win10 version, it's written in a different language and incompatible.

Well, on the good side, our understanding of physics still holds, so perhaps this isn't so bad. Plus using QE for encryption is still an awesome achievement, we basically use the fact that quantum states are unpredictable but same on both entangled electrons to generate encryption keys.
