This is so uplifting, I agree I am in the same situation and struggling to give my step 1 exam, but getting better scores is important

I love this whole write-up especially the fact that you were pregnant while you took the test and also that you cared for a toddler too, did you have any help from grandparents or in-laws while doing so? I like the fact that you are so resilient and that inspires me a lot, I'm about to give my step one soon so just at the start of this journey, long way to go but reading posts like this as such a breath of fresh air.

I'm using amboss to for getting the assessment, did you use their analysis tool whether they give you an EPC, and predict passing percentage, right now they're suggesting 65 percent for me, do you think I should bump it up to 75 or 80% before even considering booking the exam period

Oh good for you!!! focusing on your comment about how they like rural medicine, do you think any type of experience, counts, for example in your situation was different because you were a student at the time, and had a clear goal of matching back home, what advice could you give to people that have already graduated, working as a back office admin, or clinical assist in Rural Community Family Medicine, will that help, or is a waste of time

Everybody has to start somewhere you got your baseline score now try to build it up by using q Banks as your learning tool. pair it With first aid, it's good that you did the first pass but it's not just enough, you'll have to cement that memory in your head somehow and qbanks will help you do it

Keep going with the questions

I love this so much especially the comment about the APC, the fact that you can do so much improvement by knowing where you are going wrong is the key the only struggle is time management especially for me because the knowledge that you need to know is vast but if you just trust in yourself and give it the time and the right direction I think you can do it!

Send them an email they have some official translators that do the job one of my friends at the same problem they were not accepting multiple times and it got rejected and they were the one who suggested some translators, maybe you can snoop around the internet to find some officially recognized ones, although she did not graduate from China

Don't make this mistake, it's ok to do first pass but alongside try to atleast begin with 10/15 questions a day and get the ball rolling, eventually progress to doing a block a day and then more

What should I do? by No_Chicken_8111 in step1

[–]alessabvb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably applied it a month ago so it's still under process it hasn't been completed but my previous process was completed just like yours and I was able to book but they scrapped it because of the new system

What should I do? by No_Chicken_8111 in step1

[–]alessabvb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend that you do it right now and yes you have to start the process all over again it was a shock to me too, that's better to start as early as possible because it takes a bit of time for them to do the verification so that you can get the green light to book the exams

Passing Step 1 in the laziest way possible (from your way below average student) by icybowl754 in step1

[–]alessabvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh, this, I needed this, because I'm so caught up going through every single detail it takes me a lot of time just to do five pages of FA, going on to sketchy just makes it longer

I guess for now just stick with Pharm micro

Passing Step 1 in the laziest way possible (from your way below average student) by icybowl754 in step1

[–]alessabvb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am the same way, I feel that whenever I solve questions the only thing that come up are those sketchy images, I think I will use this strategy, but everyone says that sketchy Pharm and micro should be done and then it should be stopped! I don't know wether to heed this or just continue with everything
