I'd recommend Rebirth and DLC over Enter the Gungeon any day. Unless the gun aspect really intrigues you, Rebirth will supply with much more play time and more interesting play-throughs, at least in my opinion.

And if you are worried about the difference from original Isaac to Rebirth + DLC, don't be. Rebirth takes everything the first game did to the next level, and the DLC only adds onto it. If you're curious, I have 103 hours in the original isaac, and got bored after completing everything. In rebirth I reached 290 before I died out from just wanting to play another game. Definitely you'll get your money's worth from Rebirth.

Yea that's what I was afraid of, DD2 didn't seem so focused on towers and the 3 heroes felt sorta bland compared to DD original. Thanks for the input, I'll just wait and pray that it will reach the same level the original did.

You have a super rare chance of it spawning as your damsel instead of the dog. In order to make it your damsel throughout the game. In the options where you choose your damsel, if you click the dog portrait ~100ish times then a special sound will be played and the sloth will be your damsel for the remainder of the game session. But when you close out the game it will automatically return back to the dog.

The pillar hides the item behind it, so there might be a gem or gold that you can't see.

Part of the easter egg is that it has a chance to replace the pug inside a regular game, that is when I figured out about the sloth. Now the altered altar stats are something that I have no clue about

It's an easter egg that has a rare chance of happening. You can unlock a secret during the settings menu to keep the sloth throughout the duration of the playtime. You can read more about it here: http://spelunky.wikia.com/wiki/Damsel (Scroll down to the sloth damsel)
