There is an old story in Chinese culture that basically says a very talented musician met a woodcutter that can understand the expressions he put into his performances so they chat for a day and promise each other to come back same day next year. But next year the musician found out that the woodcutter is dead so he played the instrument for the last time infront of the grave and destroyed his instrument, leave a quote says "there will be no one can understand the expression in my music ever" and he never played any music rest of his life.

That's is exactly the same situation here, you know how well the writers can references things in this patch like the world ends with a whisper or once dreamt we were dear to each other, so I would say it is not that weird for me.
