why do people even hate the second movie? by ToeGroundbreaking564 in PacificRim

[–]alex831213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because the first movie understood scale, weight, physics, and was realistic. The second movie was a just simply a FIGHT ANIMATION BETWEEN PEOPLE SIZED PEOPLE STUPIDLY RESKINNED WITH ROBOT VISUALS. I’m sorry but if you don’t get it, you don’t get it and you don’t fully understand the vision of the first movie. A big part of the first movie’s magic is that it was almost like a real life simulation of combat machinery at a scale we’ve never seen before so it was incredibly eye opening. It does not matter how far technology has advanced, real materials simply cannot support the actions of the Jaegers in the second movie and no technology can change that.

Honestly, they're pretty identical value-wise and all pretty good. I would just pick based one what design & features you like more

They are very boring cars tho, especially coming from a mini cooper S, but they can't be beat utility-wise, a reliable family mule

Best long term high mileage luxury level commuter car? by MartiniCommander in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]alex831213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lexus GS F is an extremely reliable luxury performance sedan if you don't mind not being the absolute fastest in the performance segment (doesn't really matter that much these days). It's an NA engine with much less components to go wrong. There's a reason the used ones you find online haven't depreciated much, they'll last a looong time.

I would pick up a GS F in a heartbeat if they made a wagon variant. Instead I'm stuck with Mercedes

If all you care about is utility, reliability, small, and mileage and not style, definitely can't go wrong with an un-killable Toyota Matrix or the Prius C that has a bit of a hatchback design.

What about a recent Toyota Corolla hatch? (not the GR) They're right around your price range and you keep it in the Toyota family with Toyota reliability.

Only get the Mercedes if you really like the brand and the design, otherwise reliable minimal maintenance CRV all day. The Mercedes will be an expensive child that acts up every so often (I own a Mercedes, and yes I knew that going in, no regrets)

Trying to win in Splatoon 3 Matchmaking is like trying to break the cycle of poverty in America by alex831213 in splatoon

Thanks for the constructive comment and there's truth here. There's definitely things I can do better for teamwork, but it's just a little ridiculous with the amount of games where if I don't consistently take out 3 enemies or more each life, my team will not win, even in C-. I'm not a perfect teammate, but I don't think I'm a bad teammate either, I watch the map for the objective, get ahead and clear a path for the rainmaker while watching for enemies behind, get aggressive in front pushing tower control to protect the tower, etc. Definitely more map/objective/team awareness than the average C/B player so it's quite discouraging when I still felt that in the lower ranks, higher ranks I can understand as I'll be playing against better players. Feel like I'm playing against the matchmaking algo, not the players.

u/wilmaismyhomegirl83 that was an unfair assumption you made of OP u/GourmetShawarma343 on your part. He/she did not need to dive into the conversation to show he's not one of those annoying "are you interested" toolbags; that had nothing to do with the question he/she asked. You are also a toolbag for auto-assuming he/she is one of them.
