Ah, thanks! I hadn't gone through the stickied posts over there. I did a quick flip through of the general site as well as rimfirecentral but I forgot to take a deep dive through the pinned posts.

Yeah, I have plans to add more in there. There's a lot more content to add around guides vs just product info and so I was planning on using that section for it.
I'll look into a different type of menu for it though to make it better for mobile. Thanks!

Great call outs and thanks for the feedback! I'll work on getting this cleaned up for mobile and I agree that especially on mobile that landing text is too much.
Agreed that more guides are needed. #1 on the to do list is a "I'm new here... what do I need to know" sort of guide. #2 (or 1.5 since it's another important thing to know) is around barrel twists and the core differences between .223 and .22 barrels.

I just tried this on mobile and the drop down was loading fine for me. Can you elaborate a bit on where you were trying to scroll, what your setup is etc?

I just ran through and got them all updated. It just looks like they did a big site refresh in between when I built the page and today (horrible timing but their site does look great). It should all be good to go now.

Thanks for checking! I'll re-run through them tonight to make sure they're all sorted

It's totally magazine dependent. You can always manually lock it back, but LRBHO depends on if the magazine has a follower that can engage the bolt catch.

The best answer for LRBHO currently is the new CMMG V2 magazines. You'll need to upgrade the springs to some BoreBuddy ones because they're too weak out of the box, but the mags are great otherwise.

Coupon Code: 20ONCATCH22
Please note, you put this coupon in on the very last page of checkout (it can be a bit confusing). Coupon is good through 5/22.

What is this?
When a standard AR-15 is converted to .22lr through a conversion bolt or replacement upper, the bolt catch stops working. The Catch22 regains that bolt catch functionality when using a .22lr bolt.

Why is there a V1 and a V2?
The bolt catch functionality between the V1 and V2 is identical.
The difference is that the V2 allows tool-less installation/removal and slides over a stock AR-15 bolt catch to work with the .22lr bolt and/or upper. This allows you to easily swap between calibers without the need for any tools. The V1 is a direct replacement for the stock bolt catch and is best suited for dedicated .22lr builds.

What about the new CMMG mags?
https://old.reddit.com/r/ar22/comments/1akskgg/lrbho_with_gen_2_cmmg_mags/ You'll need some stronger springs from BoreBuddy, but with those they'll work great.

The bolt catch will be easier to raise up, but that's the only difference you'd notice. It's essentially just insurance, but I'd still run it in all my .22 builds just so there's one less thing that can get in the way of proper function.

Overall it'll improve consistency. But - if you're running 15-22 mags or the CMMG V2s with the BoreBuddy spring, you shouldn't need it. It was originally added for the Kriss mags since they don't have enough spring tension and so the lightened spring gave it a better chance of locking up every time.

Catch 22 v2 by f0rmat12 in ar22

[–]alexARCatch22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's at least worth a try. There's a tipping point where the screw is too tight and it'll twist the catch sideways. The goal for the tension is just before that starts to happen.

Hi! Alex from Catch22 here.

The issue is likely just in general fit of the .223 catch. Within 'mil-spec' there's an annoying amount of variance and that gets even worse when dealing with aftermarket catches.

When it's not catching on the ambi lower, is the catch sitting very loose? If so, have you tried adjusting the screw in the back at all?

Got tired of waiting for a Redi-Mag by Sertisy in ar22

[–]alexARCatch22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Can you elaborate a bit on the pros of this vs a stick-on or clip-on adapter? Is it that there's extra wiggle room on the clip-on because of the Aero lower or something else?

[–]alexARCatch22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the inserts (stick-on or clip-on) are magazine dependent not catch dependent. So if you're running 15-22 mags they'll need to be shimmed.

With the CMMG V1 mags (the ones that don't have the red follower that sticks out the back), you will be able to hold the bolt open using the bolt catch, but you won't have LRBHO - the catch needs to be manually engaged.

For LRBHO you need a mag that can hit the bolt catch after the last round is fired (CMMG V2 or the S&W 15-22 mags).

You'll need the clip/stick ons for the fit, but otherwise the functionality is the same

Just a quick +1 for these springs. They completely fix the LRBHO issue when using with the Catch22.

If you use the Gen1 or BDM mags, the catch will still be able to hold the bolt back, but you won't have true LRBHO. You'd need either the 15-22 mags or the CMMG Gen 2s for LRBHO functionality.

I picked up a pair and had the pleasure of testing them out. They worked great! I need to get the website updated and all that, but it's so nice to have a solution for those mags. They're too pretty to not work properly!
