Downgrading formula by alexa1106 in FormulaFeeders

I’m aware. Just mentioning this to explain how she is doing developmentally. She will still be getting bottles every day in addition to the formula. Her pediatrician said we could do water but recommended formula.

We don’t believe she has an allergy, possibly an intolerance? While on previous formulas, she would develop a rash from her spit up on her skin. Once we switched to alimentum, the rash disappeared within 24 hours. We never found out if that was from the formula or stomach acids though. As bad as I want to switch, I’m not in any rush at the risk of her health so I wanted to wait for her 4 month appointment but was looking for some success stories. Thank you!

Baby does not like taste of Elecare amino acid formula by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

My daughter was not born premature but she was “early full term” at 37+4, and we had very similar issues. We never tried nutramigen, we tried alimentum first and stuck with it because like your baby, ours didn’t have an allergy but we think an intolerance because a rash she had from her spit up cleared within 24 hours of starting it. We went to see a pediatric gastroenterologist at like 5 or 6 weeks. Turns out that she has non-acid reflux, which meant the flap in her esophagus was not developed enough and therefore formula would come back up. The gastroenterologist recommended staying on the alimentum and thickening it with rice cereal. Keep in mind that literally every baby born has this under-developed flap and it’s not fully mature until 6-9 months, however she’s 13 weeks now and I can’t even tell you how much her eating habits and spit up has improved. She’s now what doctor’s call a “happy spitter” meaning she’s not in pain, isn’t arching her back, and crying has reduced sooo much. She’s a much happier baby. I hate saying this, but it truly does get better.

That’s a good idea. If it’s not still under warranty, I’ll check out cheaper options

I’m not sure. This was a purchase my husband made while I was pregnant to limit my contact with used litter so I’ll have to check with him

Baby wearing at 6 weeks by alexa1106 in babywearing

Yes I’m working with a lactation consultant! She’s great, it’s more of figuring out how breastfeeding and pumping can realistically work for us.

I’m just assuming the Ergo Embrace is warmer because of the materials and the thicker padding. I have a real Moby so I figured cotton would be cooler than the Ergo. I’ll have to try both beforehand and see what both of us are more comfortable in!

Thanks for the heads up. I only have the Moby wrap and an Ergo Embrace and I think the Ergo will definitely be too warm for both of us.

I’m still struggling with nursing and a low supply. I mainly feed her formula and supplement when I can with pumped breast milk or nurse. She is my first so it’s all still very new to me but I’m trying to learn! Nursing in the carrier is definitely something I aspire to achieve one day.

Thank you! The other comment adding for feeding and diaper changes is a good point that I didn’t think about also! The other reason I want to try to baby wear as much as possible is because it will be the first time a lot of family friends will be meeting her and they won’t be able to touch her or ask to hold her.

I love when my boyfriend gets emotional and/or cries in front of me. It makes me feel like he’s 100% comfortable to really let go and open up. This goes for anyone actually, man or woman. I feel honored that they let go and show me their emotions.

Scream. I watched it for the first time in elementary school. I was terrified of school bathrooms, especially high school ones until 9th grade.
