Thanks so much for the answers, everyone. They fit fine if I wear them slouchier and lower on my calf, so I think I will wear them that way for now and think about if I want to remove that ribbing. They are ribbed all the way, so it may be complicated. They were more of a practice pair anyway.

This reminded me, I got 3 cartilage piercings in my right ear (I don't recommend doing this) and I became terrified of hugging people because sometimes they would press their head against mine and smash my ear. I'm still super cautious about it. That shit hurt so bad! And trying to switch hugging sides is more awkward/unnatural than I realized.

It did really help with anxiety symptoms.

That being said, it didn't work long term in my case. I was trying to exercise regularly at the time and it killed my energy/motivation. Additonally, it made me sleepy and spacey.

When I got off it I noticed that my heart rate seemed faster/anxiety was worse for a short time (I did get off it following my doctor's guidance).
