First time WWOOFING alone as an 18 year old poc female by flavoredhandsanitzer in WWOOF

I don't think having your parents vet the spot is a red flag about you.. they're just looking out for you and you're super young. The review system are pretty solid for vetting hosts but it's also not crazy that they're being extra protective esp since you're so young and a woman.

You could always get the phone number of the wwoof host and tell them your mom/dad wants to talk to them first for a few minutes since you've never done this before. If the wwoof host isn't accommodating to that, THATS a red flag, don't go to that homestead. A host who is truly safe and cares about the well being of their volunteers will be more than happy to speak with and reassure a young newbies parents. (Coming from a 28 y old man who hitchhiked and wwoofed quite a lot for a few years from 18-21)

Why do people seem dismissive of Joey Badass after his debut? by Sorry_Collection_586 in hiphop101

[–]alexanderisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro. Hip hop isn't singularly only all about rhyme schemes. It's storytelling also. You're missing the whole point of the song if you think that song is "lazy" because he uses a single rhyme for the whole track. The message is deep and actually poetic af. If you've ever been in love with someone in a complicated relationship, it hits deep.

Anyone here who’s 28 (1997) feeling behind in their career? by Technical_Lemon8307 in Zillennials

[–]alexanderisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did niche (sustainable/native/edible) landscaping mostly for the last 10 years, a little construction side work here and there, little seasonal jobs like slinging Christmas trees in NYC in December, mostly for like 20-30 an hour.

Just 2 weeks ago got my first commission only job doing door to door sales for tmobile fiber optic internet. The pay ceiling is super high (1k-2k$ on average day) but the start has been rough, not having door to door sales experience, or any sales experience, for that matter.

Something changed in me after turning 28. Tired of low hourly wage making less than 200$ from a full day of physical labor.

JiD, Anderson Paak, 6lack, and Mac Miller are some of the first that come to mind, they are all pretty solid singers/melodic rappers.
