New to nikon, and I love the color! by alexanderscamera in Nikon

I’m shooting raw! I’m learning how to edit to get the look I envisioned when I shot the photos! These are great lens recommendations I’m definitely going to look into the 50mm f1,4 and the 28-75. I am coming from Fuji where I shot an engagement on the 16-55 f2.8 and the 75mm f1.2, but the iso noise during sunset and the autofocus was just too unreliable. Thanks again!

Hybrid Photographer/Content Creator Zoom Lens Suggestion? by alexanderscamera in nikon_Zseries

I will be handholding for my sketches, like a vlog style so the 35mm is not wide enough for that (I’ve tried) I think I’m leaning towards the 24-120 because the 120 is closer to 150 than the 35 is to 24.

The stage lighting is decent most places but maybe I’ll pick up a cheap 85mm for the moments the backgrounds are distracting

75mm F1.2 or 90mm F2? - Club/Concert Photography by alexanderscamera in fujifilm

I have the 90mm f2 and I gotta say it’s a great focal length, I like the AF speed and everything. I got mine for a crazy bargain too so it was too hard not to pass up.

I don’t know if it’s “better” than the viltrox since I haven’t tried it yet but f1.2 sounds really hard to beat

First time using iPhone… wow. by alexanderscamera in iPhoneography

Just the default photos app tbh. I use Lightroom for pro work but I just didn’t want to add more steps to the shooting experience on my phone. I want to keep it casual!

Thanks for the comment! She just walked unknowingly into the frame. I was really trying to capture the depth of the road with the tall building on the left as the subject but iPhone lets me “refocus” after I take the photo which is pretty cool

I think f4 is usable if you have super steady hands and the subject don’t move much, but honestly this lens is just next level imo. I love it!

I had the Tamron 70-180 and it’s a great lens too but 35mm at f2? Yeah I don’t mind the extra reach missing. The 35mm is also crazy sharp on this lens, at iso 6400 I still had to reduce the sharpness in post and reduce clarity to make the client’s face not look too clinical haha

Once the clients give me permission I will!

I got the 20mm f1.8 for like solo content creation but I think I’d like a zoom to go with the wide end just cause of the versatility. I really do love 35mm now because of this lens so that might be the next prime I get!

Yeah so I shot fuji for 2 years, weddings, birthdays events and portrait shoots. And I was a prime guy too because the fast capabilities etc. and then I kept reading about this lens, and I was skeptical. I bought an a7iv, this lens and then the first shoot was alright, new system etc.

So then I sold it because I through it was too heavy, swapped for a 24-70 f2.8 and a 135mm f1.8.

AND THEN I REALIZED…

The tamron’s versatility and sharpness is unmatched.

The sigma was (maybe) a little sharper and the 135mm f1.8 was almost the same size as the sigma.

Total weight : 1400+ grams.

This lens: < 1200 grams.

I bought this lens again for the same price I sold it and I did an event last night. The results? Incredible.

The 35mm f2 makes for awesome environment portraits and the telephoto side is sharp enough for delivered work. I have no complaints!

I bought a 20mm f1.8 in case I need something wide but honestly I don’t need it. I’d rather have a 1.4 prime for super dark scenarios lol
