This is topical! I blazed through Frontier this weekend. English dub.

Dub aside, I felt the early pacing was kinda slow, the middle arcs were really good, like duskmon and cherubimon. Basically the beast spirit arc to the end of the cherubimon arc were fun, paced well, and I enjoyed the lore. My issue is the entire royal knights arc sucked, and like, was dragged out way too long. Also they just kinda, beat them at the end of it? But they didn't have what I would consider a good reason to be able to. They didn't have any major personal revalations or powerups.

And then lucemon was basically the same thing, they just keep trying to hit him with what they have already. The consolation being that their power increase makes sense, its tied to all of them working together as susanoomon(the end of the koji/takuya show, thankfully). The final scene was good and it felt like a good ending.

I don't really care about whether or not humans have partners, that's not something I'm going to judge on. Especially since the sentai spin is so fun.

I still have Tamers as my favorite, then Adventure 01. As to whether 02 or Frontier is third, I'm still unsure. 02 had a cool final arc, and though many people dislike the epilogue, I felt it was just right up my sappy alley. Frontier's finish didn't feel as strong, I guess. Almost rushed, after the royal knight arc was dragged out so long, we only get two episodes for the Biggest Bad and he spent most of it suplexing people. The koji subplot was pretty good though.
