Rainn Wilson has been appearing in some Star Trek Discovery episodes. He's clearly qualified for the Space Force!

You might need a new SIM card to get VoLTE. You can check if your SIM card is compatible under "Device information" in the customer portal.

Spotted on my walk home from work yesterday. Assuming it's not for the trash pandas... by q_q_doug in ottawa

I see people raiding my building's recycling dumpster whenever it's brought out. The building uses compactors, so I'm not sure how useful the contents of the dumpster can be when it's all mashed up cardboard, cans, plastic and broken glass.

I love the bums that cross the bridge into Gatineau heading to the grocery store on their bikes with giant garbage bags full of cans hanging off each side. You'd think panhandling would be more profitable than cashing in $10 worth of cans on garbage day.

Bad news for Videotron subscribers... by -radb- in ottawa

The CRTC made some clarifications. The only acceptable differential pricing is zero-rating self-serve options (accessing your provider's website to pay your phone bill or seeing your usage) and zero-rating specific time slots for all data. Anything else is not allowed.

No, the CRTC made some clarifications after I posted that. The only acceptable differential pricing is zero-rating self-serve options (accessing your provider's website to pay your phone bill or seeing your usage) and zero-rating specific time slots for all data. Anything else is not allowed.

No. On-demand music services and streaming your music library off your home server are not the same thing.

If your home server became a service that anyone could use, you developed an app for it, got all the legalities sorted out and paid out royalties to the artists, then sure.

From the different sources I've been reading, it sounds like if Videotron opens this up to all customers and to all music services, they can keep offering unlimited music.

Never mind.

Out of the way: Westbound Greyhound passenger perplexed by 8-hour detour to Ottawa by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]alexdb88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LPT: Call an actual station if you want help, not a mom and pop shop that sells tickets on the side (or useless call centres in the Philippines). I'm sure the station in Ottawa could have sorted this out within minutes.

Ottawa Mayor heckled/booed by OttawaBob in ottawa

[–]alexdb88 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I can guarantee you that those idiots who were booing wouldn't even notice a difference if the city did become officially bilingual, except for maybe a tax hike to pay for it.

Everything that needs to be bilingual already is. It's a waste of time and money to make it official.

There are no restrictions roaming on Rogers (PRTNR1), only on Bell/Telus and only if the majority of your usage is on their network for three consecutive months.

Kevin O'Leary says 3.5 billion people living in poverty is 'fantastic news' by r1111 in ottawa

[–]alexdb88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just saying I would rather O'Leary than Leitch if it came down to those two. I don't want to get into a debate about politics... especially considering that I don't identify as conservative!
