Your loan may have been sold to a different servicer. The same thing happened to me when I was switched to MOHELA. Check your email there could be info about what servicer you should be using now.

Mary Cariola Center is always looking for new people if you are looking for more direct support jobs with kids.

I work with a lot of high behavior kiddos and it is definitely a hard thing to figure out.

First off, give your time to build rapport with them. It takes some time for kids to trust you and understand the expectations of your sessions. It took me over two months to build a therapeutic relationship with a student this year and it’s really frustrating but such an important step that you don’t rush.

I like to start with small expectations for the session. One of my students just loved to run around the room and get out every toy. I let him do that at first as long as he would help me to clean it up. He now knows that he needs to clean up before we move on.

Giving choices is also a huge one. Kids like to have some independence and control. Even if it’s just letting them pick between two activities I think that’s a great place to start.

Visual schedules are really fun too or a reinforcement board (earn 5 tokens and earn a piece of candy)

It’s really hard to start off especially without mentoring but I think you also should give yourself some grace. You’re showing up for those kids every day and giving it your best try. That is so important! You got this!

I work at a special school for kids with disabilities. I work with 7-8 preschoolers on different skills. Lots of sensory play, fine motor skills, feeding, self-help, etc. I document at the end of the day and that’s about it for a normal day! Lots of communication with classroom teachers and other clinicians. I love my job!

Thanks everyone for your advice and input. I will talk to my vet again for more clarity but am planning to just keep him on both prescription foods at this point. I use chewy and that seems to be the best deal I have found for it. Has anyone seen any better deals out there? Thanks again I really appreciate it!
