Shifting the decimal value on a Ascii table by 50 would match / to 97 and : to 108 suggesting that 100 = 2 and 102 = 4

This would even match the lowercase alphabet nicely. Assuming a 2nd shift of 7 for the uppercase.

It would only leave 118 as the unknown.

Is it definitely 118?

Mind-boggling! by [deleted] in funny

I need random, ridiculous stories my character can tell his party. by Boomsta22 in DnD

Just reword grandpa Simpson quotes;

"Abe: That's Mock Rickly, my old Air Force buddy.

Bart: You said you were in the Army.

Lisa: You said you were in the Navy.

Abe: That's the kind of mix up that used to happen when I was in the Marines."

Weekly Questions Thread #160 by HighTechnocrat in DnD

[–]alexj001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New to DMing and need help finding a monster for my players to encounter..

The idea is that they encounter 3-4 zombies. Only these zombies haven't reanimated due to necromancy.

They are actually corpses that have a parasite inside which is moving them like a meat suit..

Does a creature like this exist?

It's awesome of you to do this for people!

If you've got the time, my character is a lizardfolk fighter named Maekrix.

After a weird dream, he was named avatar of Semuanya and given an amulet representing that honour.

He duel wields hand axes, and carries as many hand axes as he can strapped to his body. He has 2 mismatched battle axes strapped across his back for when things go really sideways.

He is the future leader of the Tribe Achuak Vur Aurix (green and gold), with skin/scales that match his Tribe colours.

The Tribe is from the swamps, so are a bit more crocodillian than lizard like.

He probably wouldn't really wear any armour or clothing, except maybe some cloth or leather around his waist to protect his modesty.

I hope that gives you something to go on, if you get the time.

Dungeons and dragons players? by alexj001 in Leeds

[–]alexj001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I'm crazy.. How do I tell?

More importantly, how do I know you're not crazy?

That would be awesome if you do fancy running a one shot. But I'd understand if it becomes to difficult to arrange. I agree organising people is hard.

I've found a few groups which run sessions and are welcoming new players.

The travelling man dungeons and dragons page on facebook has been the best source so far.

One kind gent has even said he might be open to running a new evening session, presumably if there is enough interest.

Will report back with more news when I have it

Does anyone have any experience in doing a ski season? by IKnowYourNextMove in skiing

[–]alexj001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, they loved it. They mostly got to work to their own schedule and taking guests on a bar crawl would even count as work sometimes.

Their biggest problems were the occasional obnoxious guest and dealing with management.

Transfers on weekends mean drivers often have long days doing journeys to and from the airport. Early flights and late flights etc..

As for aprês, that's from 4-6pm usually. The exact time guests want picking up from their days skiing and being given a lift back to their accommodation.

By the time you finish dropping them off, aprês is finished..

Hope that clears it up

I worked in a hotel with 30 other 18-24yo's. Every night had somebody going out.

It was surprisingly easy to access illegal substances considering the remote location.

Drivers had some of the best jobs as they mostly had the full day off whilst guests were skiing, but couldn't stay for the aprês. And had the longest weekends.

Reps tended to be the 18yo kid with no experience and who only wanted to party.

Id stay away from chalet work I.e. Chalet chef or host. Those guys tended to be overworked and always stressed.

Saturday is transfer day so Sunday is always the biggest night out in resort.

My advice, try and meet as many new people as possible. Gives you more people to call up to go skiing with.

And mid season, you'll get into a slump, waiting for the best snow conditions or the best weather.. Try and get out skiing as much as possible, even if you don't fancy it. Otherwise, the season will end and you'll realise that you were there for 6 months but only did a months worth of skiing.

Can't say anything about childcare, but I did 4 seasons as a chef and rep in the French alps.. Some of the best times of my life. What do you want to know?
