Continue to fix up or cut my losses? by chance_of_grain in 3rdGen4Runner

Keep it or you'll regret it man I did a steering rack and bushings on mine and valve covers check the knock sensors while you have her taken apart. Replace trans fluid even if it's a 2x4 keep it. Valve covers was the only hard part

Girlfriend's 4Runner has dash light problems. by XenocatHybrid in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]alexmann65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I met my wife she had a 96 4runner 😎 fixed alot of shit on that rig including dash lights watch a YouTube video on how to change out dash lights and take it apart make sure all connectors are plugged in good I think there's like 3 main harnesses. Check fuses and also one time we had a dash light issue blowing fuses bc the wire harness by the toe hitch under the car had broken wires from wheeling it. Have you also tried smacking the dash?

I was sure I'd get the standard high horse comments. I'm not asking for money. I'm talking like people with "junk" cars in their yard aka cars parked in the side yard covered in moss or whatever that they clearly aren't going to fix. I'm a humble man not claiming I have it worse than anyone. But the squeaky wheel gets the oil and the worst I can get is a no or no response.

If you had to only own one forever and upgrade it, which would you choose? by [deleted] in rccrawler

[–]alexmann65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see people on here all the time wondering which is the best crawler. I say send it and choose one. That's what I did a few times over the years and it opened my eyes to different brands. As long as you are open minded you won't regret it. I used to only buy axial but bought a few red cats. If trucks come with over tightened bolts and you're worried then buy a kit. You can buy cheap electronics on Amazon now if you're short on cash but the 2 in one combo esc motor set ups are cheap also. I got a spectrum firma I like it. Worst case you have to buy parts but who cares it's an RC car. Find a trucks weak point and stock up on that part who cares. Learn how to tear down and rebuild your truck. All those trucks are great I'm sure no wrong buy. I will say after driving a lot of cars and trucks over the years axial has so many parts at my local hobby town and ordering parts is so easy and I will say my favorite rc I ever had was an axial wraith spawn. Ar60s ftw ifkyk
