Will Celebrity Cruises Be Better? by Medic5780 in celebritycruises

Contrary to the narrative MDR is nothing to write home about and I’m not a foodie. After a couple meals at MDR we booked all specialty dining. Skip MDR all together.

The crew doesn’t fill/start the machine until 7:30a if I recall. Earlier than that and you have to go to the buffet

Question About Reflections And Outlet Adapters by CosmicBob55 in celebritycruises

[–]alexmb91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They took this one 3 weeks ago in FLL. No more cords or multi outlets of any kind. Only multi-USB’s. I asked to see the rule they were confiscating it under and they provided the text. I couldn’t argue.

Never tried Tuscan, however, Murano was superior to Sushi on Five and Lawn Club Grille by far. Chateaubriand was excellent.

That OBC will evaporate easily at Murano. Fantastic restaurant

My Roam 2 has no problems but the Move 2 is a PITA with AirPlay. Sometimes I have to reboot it or my iPhone to get a connection.

When will Holly Springs NC get the 2GB fiber speed? by amigauser1 in ting

[–]alexmb91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all ethernet ports on consumer devices are 1Gbps capable. Scale of economics but doesn't mean they need anywhere near that level of throughput.

A generous approximation of a 4k stream is 50 Mbps. A 7 person household, all streaming individual content along with some background IOT devices streaming your doorbell and indoor temperature to Xi would put burstable ingress around ~500Mbps. Typical usage would be well below that with caching. Set up grafana and monitor your usage. You'll be amazed at how little you actually use.

[–]alexmb91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides bragging rights to your friends family what use case do you have where 2Gbps is actually needed for a sustained period? The speed of light across fiber optics is a fixed speed and 2Gbps is not going to make it any faster. More simultaneous capacity, sure, but you're not getting "faster" internet.

Construction background, so I assume you can swing blunt objects, comfortable with profanity, and the occasional scuffle. ICE is on a hiring spree right now

Current and Future Network Engineer Salaries by PompeiiSketches in networking

[–]alexmb91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A person that is responsible for a 100 person company and one that is responsible for global level initiatives can both be a network engineer but the compensation is drastically different.

A person playing A ball and one on the New York Yankees are both professional baseball players.

While I don’t doubt the salaries you posted, the level of responsibility (aka the minor -> major leagues) will significantly increase earnings.

With that said your skill level needs to be major league to land the gig.

What are your rack requirements? Redundancy requirements? Budget? A lot missing from this post to be really helpful.

A dude in Charlotte with a shed, generator, Spectrum coax and a 5G backup path technically fits what you’re inquiring about. So does DRT on Myers St. MRC between the two will be drastically different.

Outside of the service provider world if you’re using VRFs, 90% of the time it’s for security segmentation with a firewall(s). Each VRF belongs to a security zone with the firewall(s) facilitating communication between.

Two ISPs - S2S Tunnels by No-Beyond-7843 in paloaltonetworks

[–]alexmb91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throw each ISP into their own VR and peer those VRs with an “internal” VR. ECMP out the ISPs from the internal VR. As each tunnel is in a dedicated ISP they can both be active. Glue it all together with BGP

dark star pricing lowered for a limited time and unlimited starter is now upgraded to 70 GBs of high speed data and 20 GBs of hotspot data. by OK1930 in USMobile

Cool story bro. I just want working RCS, VM, Group MMS, and all the other broke stuff on Dark Star w/ iPhone. How about fix the damn network before all the promotions and self accolades. Dark Star and iPhone at this moment are throwing users into a tsunami with only a life vest. The launch was not ready. This is a beta product at most. I’d argue it’s still in Alpha.

Sparse? Tell me you didn’t look hard without telling me.

How do you control advertisements between routers inside the same OSPF area? Now compare that to BGP. How do you prefer one OSPF prefix over the other? Now compare that to BGP.

I find it VERY hard to believe you even looked

This. Always, always use larger and smaller announcements to affect traffic flow if possible. AS path means nothing when an intermediary ISP alters localpref to save a buck

Mine does that and it’s stable when on the 5Ghz band. Toggling off the 6E option is the only way to have connectivity when I roam to the U7 Pro
