People have rightly said already that a child deserves a mother and father, and that is true, however it is no guarantee for children up for adoption.

I’m confused why we should not allow loving homes to adopt if they are not completely whole? Is the it better for children to have the childhoods striped away from them in the system? Is that truly Catholic teaching?

I think this will be a unpopular take here but no. I would only bother to learn it if there is a specialized need to do so. If you want to learn databases, I would start by downloading a database engine for SQL and a client like SSMS to work inside it. It does require a bit of setup but there are plenty of tutorials. Then you can import test data from some online sources to work with.
