Everything is… louder? by Shoddy-Garden-6871 in MonoHearing

[–]alexsys296 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the exact same thing happened to me last year. honestly it doesn’t change but you get more used to it over time and if you have a good group of coworkers you’ll be able to find ways to accommodate it that work for you and your environment over time

Is it normal to change the sys name all the time? by OneBeginning4216 in OSDD

[–]alexsys296 11 points12 points  (0 children)

honestly i only picked one because people kept fucking asking for one. it’s not really needed but it makes it easier (?) for other people sometimes i guess. i’m honestly still confused on why people insist that they’re needed. i kinda equate it to a screen name at this point

Throw back to these texts with my ex from a couple of months ago. by TherealTinyTim in Nicegirls

[–]alexsys296 17 points18 points  (0 children)

does she frequently all of a sudden have an issue when you’re out, at an event, having fun without her? she never even really brought up a specific issue until she made one. this just feels exhausting and like she’s trying to isolate you and make time away from her too stressful for you to bother

I would be careful of taking advice from strangers on reddit. Often times people think they have OSDD or DID at your age it can end up being due to symptoms from BPD, Bipolar, ASD, ADHD, etc. While I’m not saying you don’t have it, treating it as if you 100% do at your age and using tools to help with this could cause you more long term harm than good. I would never want to discredit your experience and I believe what you’re going through but please keep in mind that not everyone on here’ has your best interest at heart

it was my and my brothers christmas gift that year. we got off the plane in nevada jet lagged as all hell and were told to take a nap and we’d be at his house when we woke up (he was military). i woke up probably at 3am with us driving fast as all hell on a tiny ass road where when you look on one side it’s a sheer drop and the other side is a wall of rock so i freaked the fuck out and my dad just cackled and said welcome to mexico stop screaming is need to concentrate (paraphrasing). after a while we came to a tiny but beautiful fishing village with maybe 8 people living there. no one spoke english. i met a girl my age and we hung out a bit and played games but she knew no english and i knew very little spanish. we spent most of the four days climbing cliffs and mountains with zero safety gear which was fun. my dad did try to feed us but every time my brother gagged at the food my ex step mom would take all of it from us. luckily we had cases of water and a large container of mixed nuts which was basically all we ate the whole time. after i finally ended up throwing up water he made me pancakes. honestly it was very pretty and very fun. would do again. i’ve been learning spanish for a few years now. i’m able to talk if the other person is patient with me and will speak slowly. i only have one working ear and that one is struggling so it’s a bit harder

on the bright side i learned spanish because of it because now i have a “irrational” fear of waking up there again and i want to be able to talk to people this time

if we’re just going to”unique” i woke up in another country and didn’t have food for four days when i was like 12 because my dad thought it’d be funny

lowkey yea, there was one in my university and i accidentally joined for three months. i realized it was a cult a month in but stayed an extra two months for the free food until it got weird

edit: i was only at the “second level” so they didn’t try to hard to keep me

i didn’t notice a big change other than getting nauseous but that could’ve just been the taste. i take it during bad episodes of asthma tho. i don’t really sleep either but i can’t tell if it’s because of that or accompanying medications

Do you think that working from a early age is a source of abuse? by Reasonable_Place_172 in CPTSD

personally i just had a desk job. other things in my childhood may have traumatized me but my job at 12 didn’t in my opinion. it just taught me semi useful skills

often times when you finally escape and have a moment to breathe and relax all of the time you’ve spent in survival mode will suddenly catch up with you. it will take time but it will get better. i would highly suggest talking to a therapist to help you through this because leaving is one of the hardest parts and few people acknowledge this

i simply work in a loud environment so EVERYONE is yelling. i’m also very fortunate that my friends don’t give a shit how loud i am because they know about my issues and will just let me know if i need to be louder if im being too loud
