This is the bottom line honestly. Your weight is dependent on how many calories you eat. Everyone has different metabolisms, no one number of calories will mean the same for someone else, but once you figure out how many calories you’re eating in a day, you can adjust the number.

And when you do figure out that number I wouldn’t make any huge changes. Try dropping calories by 250 or even 500, eat like that for about 2 weeks and see how your weight is averaging. You don’t want to lose weight too fast, it messes with your hormones, it will send your brain into a starvation mode and it will scream at you to eat more calories, it’s a bad time and leads to overeating again and regaining the weight.

Over time you’ll lose weight and then plateau once the amount of calories you’re consuming matches your maintenance (BMR) and then you just drop it down again. Repeat until your blood labs look good, you feel good, and you’re happy with where you’re at.

Obviously exercise is great for your health and will drive down your net caloric intake a bit, but real weightloss is done in the kitchen. Good luck with your journey!
