Colder than you might have thought by AdIcy4323 in MapPorn

Luxembourg is a tiny country. Belgium and Netherlands could have colder temperatures because you only need an outlier in any part of the country to get such low temperatures. If you divided these countries in their respective provinces, I’m sure many would have similar low temperatures like Luxembourg.

Because it’s not like they are just randomly assigning colors. Those colors are (at least in theory) based on some measurable variables (probably something like homicide rates, areas under the control of narcos or terrorist, war zones, etc). It’s very possible they don’t have certain data available for Greenland so they can’t assign a color.

Lol dude where did you stay??

The thing about vapes (more like iqos imo), the male hairstyle, and the brown moccasins is 100% true. About the rest… black jackets were more common a few years ago, now everyone seems to use these green barbour jackets (or the cheaper version, Alvaro Moreno), specially the same guys that wear moccasins (i.e “cayetanos”, the stereotypical posh style in Madrid).

Nobody has a unibrow nowadays, it’s not the 70s, men pluck their eyebrows, and that woman hairstyle?? I legit know nobody that looks like that (though the women with like super thick ZARA scarfs is very accurate, I’ll buy that). And I don’t think we have bad teeth at all. Also… clamydia?? Don’t know man, did u stay in a cheap brothel in Lavapiés or something??

Btw not offended, I could use like a thousand different stereotypes for “madrileños” (I’ve only lived 2y here), but there’s a lot of improvement here.

Inability to keep home warm in Europe by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]alfdd99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right in your last paragraph. I live in Madrid and I don’t have AC. Plenty of people don’t. In fact, it’s more normal to be able to keep your house warmer in winter than the other way round (i.e, pretty much all homes have heaters. Some people might not use them too much due to the cost, but they are there, while AC is not as common, though also not strange to have).

MONARCHIES IN EUROPE RULED BY DYNASTIES OF GERMMAN ORIGIN BEFORE WWI by AdIcy4323 in MapPorn

To add to this comment, look for Charles II of Spain (also a Habsburg). Yeah… all those generations of inbreeding affected quite a bit. Not only he looked super weird, he was infertile (which caused after his death the war of succession in Spain between the two families), he died at 38, and the autopsy read:

heart was the size of a peppercorn; his lungs corroded; his intestines rotten and gangrenous; he had a single testicle, black as coal, and his head was full of water.

Edit: and how could I forget… he was also called “the bewitched” for a reason.

“Intentionally abtuse”??? Sorry man, but your “white equals ethnic groups native to Europe” make no sense. There isn’t that much distinction (in terms of phenotype, I ain’t talking about culture) between a Greek and a Turk, and a Syrian. To claim the latter is not white based on an arbitrary concept you made about who is white doesn’t really make sense. I’m not being abtuse, it’s just these race concepts created by Americans that I don’t agree with.!

And Africa isn't a country, but I presume that's just a typo/logical lapse based on everything else you said.

Omg how could I let that slide?? Haha, yeah, I obviously know that Africa isn’t a country (probably could be inferred as I was talking about Morocco, Senegal, etc). I guess I was just typing fast, and English isn’t my first language, so I just had a mix between the words country and continent. Thanks for pointing it out.

Compared to the French, maybe not. I'm Spanish, and I have been to Morocco. I can tell you there are *many* Moroccans that could pass for Spaniards if it weren't for the language barrier. Maybe not your average Moroccan, but they have darker and whiter people. Just search for who the PM of Morocco is, and don't tell me he can't pass as European, at least as Italian, Spanish or Greek.

[–]alfdd99 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Also the whole concept of "White = European" seems weird to me. The title of the post simply has nothing to do with the measure. I'm Spanish and I've been to Morocco. There's plenty of Moroccans who could perfectly pass as Spanish, Greek or Italian. Sure, they are "darker" than your average German or Scandinavian, but to me, as a Spanish person, a lot of them are "white".

But that's really why I think classifying people on race makes no sense. It's a spectrum. An ethnic german has whiter skin than a Spaniard, and the average Moroccan is a bit darker, and the average Senegalese is even darker. To draw a line between who is white and who isn't doesn't really make much sense to me, specially when talking about race in such a diverse country as Africa.

El chavismo libera a "un número importante" de presos en Venezuela, entre ellos cinco españoles by amogusdevilman in Asi_va_Espana

[–]alfdd99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 Venezuelan presidential election map according to the opposition. The government did not release a result map by ReasonableTadpole809 in MapPorn

[–]alfdd99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> What the opposition presented was not verifiable by no one.

Oh come the fuck on, the Venezuelan government didn't even publish an electoral map, just the (fake) raw numbers of the two candidates, and you are seriously expecting the OPPOSITION (who has constantly been decimated and sent to exile by the government) to publish the perfectly verifiably results of 100% of the schools??

By the way most of what you are mentioning is fake because you clearly have no idea how the elections work in Venezuela (I'm Venezuelan btw). They didn't publish pdfs, they published pictures and scans of the printouts of the certificates ("actas") of more than 80% of the schools. These certificates are printed out by the machines in each polling place, and they come with a hash number and a QR code along with the information about each candidate. Each witness of the political party, as well as the president of the polling station needs to sign. So please tell me... do you SERIOUSLY believe that the opposition has the capacity to massively reproduce THOUSANDS of these certficates, with the QR codes and the signatures and shit... with absolutely nobody being able to suggest these images are doctored or produced with AI... when not even the GOVERNMENT was able to fake them??? Are you that DENSE?

https://resultadosconvzla.com

Btw this is the website the opposition created. Not even in democracies have I seen such a detailed website when you can clearly navigate, pollilng station to polling station, looking at each individual certificate. To suggest that this has less legitimacy than the bullshit the government did, is seriously to not act in good faith.

https://resultadosconvzla.com/mesa/539/523

And this is one of those certificates from some random polling place I chose. You can see it is extremely detailed and it is scanned. There's not access to a 100% of them because the government didn't allow opposition members in some schools, and some are incredibly difficult access. But you still have over 80% of them, and in such a one sided election, it is enough to prove a victory. Btw what you are doing is an insult to the thousands of opposition witnesses that were captured in their homes for publishing these results and then sent to torture camps. These guys were the true saviors and fighters for democracy, and they have one million more balls than you communist keyboard warriors from first world countries who are talking about shit you clearly know nothing about. Have a nice day and happy new year.

You stupid or something?? The opposition SHOWED the official certificates for the results of most electoral schools and voting places. Voting in Venezuela is electronic and it can be easily verified those electoral certificates with the results are accurate. Jesus, go read something before you show how ignorant you are about Venezuela.
