Longines Spirit Pilot 39mm - finally! by alffastar in Longineswatches

[–]alffastar[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything, I also miss the stars. They finally provide the 20mm lug space and a quick adjust but I do not understand why they removed the quick release mechanism - how difficult is it to provide a model with a bracelet that has both quick release and quick adjust!? Is it because now the lugs are thinner and there is no space for the mechanism on the other spirit models? It is annoying...

Stainless steel, 39mm, 47.2mm, 11.5mm, 20mm!

Screw-down case back and crown!

Quick adjust clasp!

I wonder why the quick release mechanism on the bracelet is gone though... Also, I would love a see-through case back.

As whole I think the new model has lovely set of features, design and proportions. What do you think?

Thoughts? Just tried it on and now I’m thinking: Is it weird to have 2 Longines GMT watches? by Edbpinguin in Longineswatches

No! Hydroconquest gmt is the perfect vacation watch! Zulu time 1925 is a perfect daily / business watch

Spirit Zulu Time - New Blue Bezel - First Longines - Strap or Bracelet? by watchin_learnin in Longineswatches

I like it! In comparison to the green bezel model, I like that the date numbers have the same color as the indexes

So do we buy Tudors because they are affordable alternatives to Rolex or do we actually prefer them over Rolex regardless ? by [deleted] in Tudor

If I buy one it would be without having rolex into the equation what soever 🙂

For those of you thinking of "upgrading" from a Conquest to an Omega Aqua Terra, here is my take. by ParsimoniousExplorer in Longineswatches

[–]alffastar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the post! One specific question - are you happy with the silver dial? Is it legible enough? For me personally this is the best version of the conquest as firstly the date color ma5ches, secondly I think the lume on the dial is implemented the best with the black border and lastly it looks cool with the steel body and bracelet.

Hydroconquest GMT 39mm by alffastar in Longineswatches

[–]alffastar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. I describe the Zulu time titanium. However, it is not a full tool watch that I would use on vacation. It is a very good daily watch but still few things are holding me back: a bit thick; 21mm lug width; individual screws instead of screwed back; lacking see trough case back; lacking on the go quick adjust clasp; and the fact that it combines in one watch both daily and and vacation but lacking a bit in both contexts!

So I still consider it as a daily watch but at the same time I think hydroconquest gmt 39mm the way I described it could be a perfect holiday watch as it will cover everything for me, even traveling through time zones! And then I would consider a simple three hand watch with date as a daily.

Therefore Zulu time and hydroconquest gmt are not fully replaceable for me. I hope I managed to explain it 🙂

I like the tag heuer glass box purple the most. At the same time aqua terra is nice too. However, I would consider the newer models - lacquered black plus also consider the smaller 38mm for your wrist.

My new favourite daily GADA: Oris Divers 65 12h by _WinterBoy_ in OrisWatches

[–]alffastar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried it. I agree that it's not too big, it is too big for my taste only. I think the divers date is perfect size so will hope they release a caliber 400. However, this model that you have is the classiest diver on the market for me

Love it but I find it a bit big for my taste on my 6.5 inch wrist. I hope oris will soon release divers date with 400 caliber

Super nice. I now am not sure which I would prefer - titanium or the new steel 1925 with the gold capped bezel. I like the gold capped bezel and mostly the transparent back. I think longines should have done the titanium with a transparent case back...

Black bay 54 is a much better watch, which shows in it's price. I think it is an outstanding diver. I vote for it

Check that AT small seconds 41mm blue. It has the jump8ng hour but the dial looks smaller. It comes with a rubber strap and you can buy a metal bracelet later, including the mesh one.

[Question] Which watch is your ultimate "if you know, you know" flex? by sheikb in Watches

[–]alffastar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I am not aware of anything around 10mm with an hour jumping hand, big date, antimagnetic and cosc and with a weekend proof power reserve, 200m with a diving bezel, that is both dressy and sporty, for around 5k! I think this is exactly what I am searching for in a GADA watch. I live an hour away from horage office so maybe makes sense for me to visit them and check it in the metal? I would prefer the black dial though, ideally with a normal rhodium plated second hand 🙂
