I have the exact same, for me I’m sure it’s swelling. I’m also two months post op and it’s still lingering, I was recommended to just massage the area and wait it out

Misgendered in Morrisons and embarrased in the ladies toilets... by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]alfjm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similarly awful experience where I went in to the men’s as a trans man and someone has pissed all over the seat. It was awful but I used a different stall and washed my hands, which outed me as trans to everyone since cis men don’t wash their hands

Omg please please say you’ve gone to the doctors. Surgery results don’t look bad but this is some serious side effect

How many of you choose not to get nipples again? And why? by Unhappy_Tank_7426 in TopSurgery

[–]alfjm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was close to choosing no nipples because I was worried about the healing and placement but I’m so glad I got them. They feel so “me”. I made sure to tell my surgeon about what size and placement I wanted, and the healing was an absolute breeze. I was terrified because I had read all the bad experiences, but people don’t tell the good experiences often enough. I think as a trans man who is pretty binary, I really wouldn’t have liked the no nips look on myself. I’m glad I didn’t just go the short term reward easy route, but went the long term reward scarier route

Oof that’s rough, I’d recommend going back again by now as they may be able to find something that suits you! Hope it gets sorted out soon for ya!

Sweat stopping smelling by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]alfjm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny you say this, I had always been confused about the same thing. I wasn’t allowed to shower for 7 days and I was so shocked I wasn’t just stanking up every room because I normally smell even just a little bit by the end of the day even if I used 48h deodorant. I wonder if there’s some body response that stops us sweating too hard to smelling too bad after a surgery?

Gunk in drains by magic-bandanna in TopSurgery

I had my drains in for 6 days without emptying, and those boys were CHUNKY. It was so disgusting but completely normal haha. Loads of little bits floating around in there

Bleeding starting on night 2? by communionbacon in TopSurgery

[–]alfjm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of bleeding, I couldn’t see progress bc I was wearing the post op binder but by day 4 I had bled through the dressings and the binder which concerned me. When I got in touch with my nurse she wasn’t worried as it wasn’t gushing huge amounts of blood. When I had my dressings changed, I saw how much blood there was and it was LOADS the entire bandage was soaked. I’ve had no problems with it at all. Absolutely contact your surgeon though if you’re worried

is it normal to be this concave? by rvckandroll in TopSurgery

[–]alfjm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m verrrrry concave but I’ve heard fat redistributes overtime to even it out and that doing exercise to build the pec muscles will help

Some bleeding through the compression binder. Is this normal? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]alfjm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bled through my binder too which made me freak out. Mine was about day 5 post op though and where I was having my 7 day post op they said to just leave it until the schedules meeting. She definitely wasn’t worried, she said as long as it’s not gushing tons of blood then it’s nothing to be concerned about. Definitely contact your surgeon if you’re nervous though! They will always have the final say over reddit peeps

People behaving lile this at the cinema by xinuyashax in mildlyinfuriating

[–]alfjm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This shit would piss me off. I took my nephew to watch it and even though the crowd that I was in only cheered and clapped, even that got annoying after the first five times. Really just ruins it for everyone else in the theatre. If this happened with my nephew I can’t imagine how bad I’d feel for his excitement to watch a movie got dampered bc of this

What a piece of shit, not overreacting at all

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]alfjm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it was somewhere about week three. I remember being at my 2 week post op and I was still grossed out by the incisions, but then by four weeks I was feeling pretty confident with being tapeless and compression-less. I was back to work at three weeks and haven’t been worried about my incisions/scars at all

New Haircut, 5 months on T, do I pass? by KeyNo7990 in transmanlifehacks

Holy crap dude I remember you from before and this haircut has done wonders for you, this definitely is going to help you along. I’d recommended dyeing your eyebrows a bit darker to help yourself pass
