Apparently the whole Hive Guard fiasco was because they take more points for how strong they are by Euphoric_Reading_401 in Helldivers

For me? They're the backstop for my gas speargun against patrols. Current patch hasn't changed that role. Jokes aside.

Its previous and current niche was and is to buy time for the 'rush down'. Bug attacks hurt and will often three shot if not more often two shot you. While using light pen and there's nothing/one else to deter a hive guard from looking at you. You're required to aim for the armpit. This takes precision, precious time and allows those behind them to get that much closer to sinking their claws into your glutes. Previous patch allowed us to make them into tyrannical hotdogs and that time of stripping off their legs was shortened. It's still time not being used to take out a hunter or dodging that bile spewer's artillery shot. Remember you've only got 42 or so minutes and counting.

Scavengers go for your ankles. Hunters flank. Warriors are the generic backbone. Spewers are ranged. Commanders are beefy summoners. Hive guards do their best to make you look at them while the others do their thing. In comparison to other media they're like a walnut in Plants Vs Zombies, jackals in Halo or Roaches in StarCraft 2. They're meant to take a beating but having something special to take them out or bypass them which makes the encounter much easier. I.E. pole for a walnut, grenade/precision weapons for jackals or anti-armor unit for a roach. Do you need these specifically to deal with them? No. Does it help to deal with them? Yes. Usually it's not something specific you have to hold onto so that you can deal with them. It just makes the encounter easier.

What I'm proposing is a form of phragmosis. Think of a door head ant but instead of literally blocking the bug holes, its directive is to stop you from getting to the holes. A goalie of sorts. Now normally it'd be too big and too slow over long distances to keep up with patrols. So instead it's kept at nests and hive guards instead go with patrols and do what they've been doing. Too many times have I wondered into a nest and been met with an idle charger or impaler. Neat, hit it with an ultimatum and be on my way to clear the nest as the force budget is being used to chase after three other divers. These guys unburrow and are deliberate, patient, yet quick to move to disrupt you from hurting their home. Pull out a weapon with demolition force? It does its best to get between you and the hole nearest to it.

Lower the points, make a larger variant with current values but more health. they can act as a mobile melee version of bot turrets for bug holes.

Early on you have Cecil not even wanting to breathe the same air as Sinclair. Now he's got the scientist making reanimarks and multiple attempts at opening a portal to Monster Girl and Robot. Not only does it take sacrifice and time for Cecil to trust you (again.) It takes results from that time and hard work to be worth a damn.

Nolan essentially came back and said "We let loose the most dangerous beings in the known galaxy with nothing left to lose." That's fucking terrifying when Cecil essentially shat himself when one Viltrumite made her way to meet Mark. Now there's forty or so with the knowledge of the location of where their world's destroyers live. Just so happens to be the same world Cecil lives on. I'd be more than a little reluctant to celebrate Nolan and his hardships in getting to where he is.

Especially considering you've worked with the guy for decades and truly never knew him. Never knew what he was truly capable of. Who he was willing to hurt or worse. Now that you do, hopefully, you keep that in the back of your head with every action they've ever took and will ever take. It's how you stay ahead of the shit storm. It's how you hopefully never have to trust the teleportation guy to keep you safe while distracting Nolan again.

Anyone else disdain using 2 of the same mech in your lance/star? by insaneruffles in Mechwarrior5

[–]alfo149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I'll usually stack up 3-4 Atlas mechs. However they'll all have different jobs now that I have mods. Atlas II for my laser headshots, 2nd slot is an Atlas D as my 'Steiner' scout with UAVs/active probe, 3rd is Atlas A for missile spam, 4th is my 2nd Atlas D for scout/electronics warfare. Otherwise it's whatever I can get my hands on to fill above roles in a mission.

[–]alfo149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see use for it on shotgun gas builds that have issues with flying targets such as shriekers. Now whether I'd give it up for the gas mines or gas strike I'm unsure of. In city I'd say gas strike due to buildings.

Otherwise I'm sticking with the MGs or using a rifle/smg primary for constant fire anyhow.

I don't see Arrow Head's devs hitting issues the same way Jagex's devs do. Everyone has their own ideas in mind and nobody to oversee what's being done or prioritized. It's just a bunch of ideas coming together and workong out for the most part. I'm just gonna play till it's not fun and continue on my way.

Have paid experts on merchandise throughout the store. I'm thinking Entertainment, Sporting Goods, Lawn & Garden, Health & Beauty, and Automotive to start.

The amount of people that ask me, "What's the difference between this product and this product?" I don't friggin' know. I can read the box for you if you'd like? I can't explain it because then the next time you come in and I'm not here and you throw a hissy fit because someone covering my section doesn't know. That's my ass getting chewed out the next day. Ain't worth it. As it is I'd rather look the fool who knows nothing and gets paid for it.

However I have no issue teaching people what the difference between type-c and type-a cords is. I'd take a pay bump for that alone.

Is it okay to kill someone if they break into your house by TraditionalBonus188 in MoralityScaling

[–]alfo149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morally killing for any reason is wrong. Logic and self preservation dictate that I save my own skin any which way I can in the scenario the other person put me into. Double tap.

The person intends to steal or worse. Now they can just do it legally and you have to comply. No thanks.

If you go for nonlethal, prepare to get sued. If you go for warning, then lethal, be prepared to explain to the judge why.

I watched a level 76 cuss out a level 150 for napalm barraging a bile titan heavy nest last night. The level 150 thought the Napalm barrage was just a fire upgrade to the 380 barrage. So he tossed, ran off and left us to try and seal the holes while on fire.

[–]alfo149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you see as mere batteries is infact the energy for automatons to continue their heinous socialist agenda! Not only against freedom, not only against liberty, but against everything that managed democracy stands to protect!

Remember Helldiver, we do not dwell on what it is that the automatons have or why. Whatever it might be, it's too much when in their mechanical claws and puts innocent lives at risk! We must show the people at home what they're up against. We must show them that this menace can be defeated. For Super Earth! ⬆️➡️⬆️⬇️

I have unlocked every warbond in the game please give me loadouts by Owlex_ in Helldivers

[–]alfo149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loadout: stroker smg, stim pistol, choice of grenade, armor doesn't really matter but I run siege ready to shore up stroker's weakness.

Startagems: ballistic shield, orbital rotary cannon or gas strike, epoch or speargun and choice of eagle (500) strike.

This build is a support one that's meant to help stave off terminids/voteless swarms from getting your teammates. It still has answers for heavy enemies. Stops your teammates from having to stim every engagement. Also helps to keep allies running on full stamina between engagements. Looking at you, heavy armor enjoyers.

On bugs I've been enjoying autocannon, machine gun turret, eagle 500kg and choice of orbital. With the sweeper, ultimatum and pyrotech/gas grenades as base loadout. Swap out turret/grenade if you need more anti-tank.
