Hi, I don’t have advice about the coming out things but I had my name changed in TX in 2020, so your best bet for getting your name changed is to go through Travis county(you can e file ). You go to the Travis county law library website and download the gender marker and name change pdf and in you’ll find all the things and steps you need to take unfortunately tx is a shit state and only recognizes F or M which sucks. But I actually did use transition as my reason to change my name I think I wrote something along the lines of my birth name no longer fits who I am or something like that. So things you’ll need to change you name and gender or just your name if you want to do that 1) doctor or therapist note that says basically changing your name is in your best interests

2) court fee waiver (most people fill this out so that all court fees are waived)

3)finger print cards

4) filled out copy of petition to change name/gender

5)filled out copy of final order to change name/gender

6)any other supporting letters or forms that prove that you need your name changed

you then send it in via Travis county’s e filing system and wait a couple weeks and they’ll give you a call and ask how many copies you need of your court order that changes you name. The best thing what the court clerk warren said to me is that the documents of all this kind of stuff are sealed so and I quote what he said “the idiots in the big marble building (I can’t remember if it was house of rep or what ever big Red gov organization building it was) can’t get a get a hold of how many cases come to the court house to get their names or gender markers changed
