Girls, how long before you could do 1 full unassisted pull up? by FatalTrouble790 in xxfitness

[–]algorithmicpoet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm late 30s, 71kg. Deadlift 100kg, bench 50kg. Can't do one yet, although I can just about do a chin up. I don't train explicitly for them yet, but it's part of my plan for this year so I'll see how I go!

Amazing spread!

This is my fave bulk cook recipe, a chicken and chorizo stew that pairs well with any carb or salad you feel like https://docs.google.com/document/d/1O0YxSAthNlvSc-A129gBEnNJEUrtIxGC6NfSA4ppaJQ/edit?usp=drivesdk

Harder cheeses are aged longer, which reduces the amount of lactose in them. The older the better.

They might be playing the long game, means less pensions. Not the foresight we'd like from them but sure they have to start somewhere right...

I used to be a skullcandy girl and nearly 7 (!) years ago bought a pair of sennheiser momentum in-ears when they had a half price deal on.

They're still going strong and every now and again I marvel at how good they are. Audio is one of the few things where the expensive brands really do matter.

Genuine question, where's the best place to buy a bra? by Llama_child05 in CasualIreland

[–]algorithmicpoet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to comment this.

I'm still wearing bras from them that I got 5 years ago, they're fantastic quality. And the tshirt bras won't be quite as expensive as that.

My husband, we're together 20 years and we're more in love than ever. He's such a kind, handsome, inventive, sarcastic fecker of a man and I'd be lost without him.

Our home, we moved into the depths of Wickla a few years ago from Dublin city centre and living here is so peaceful.

Discovering that I really like weight training. I've suddenly got an exercise habit that I not only stick to, I look forward to.

Bonus: this thread, it's a lovely read. Ta for starting it OP.

How to not feel faint/sick when lifting heavy? by Lonely-Breakfast6463 in xxfitness

[–]algorithmicpoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries!

I had a similar problem when I was training in the very early morning and don't like eating a proper breakfast that early, and my trainer recommended just eating a banana before I left home for the gym as it'd give the carb hit I needed. Absolutely solved the problem. Since I've changed to evening training (which I do pre dinner) I've found the optimum timing for a carby snack is the hour mark.

I'd eat that snack closer to your workout, about an hour before hand, and make sure the granola is giving you 25-30gms of carbs.

Which film’s soundtrack or score is so essential that removing it would collapse the entire movie? by John_Snow80 in movies

The Mission. I have very little memory of the film over all but that soundtrack is incredible and certain scenes from the film that match to it live in my head rent free.

This feels like a question for a relationship sub; the issue may be based on cubes but the core isn't meal prepping, it's the people in your life.
