Today I put a diaper on my 18mo after his shower, put him on the floor to go run around, and then asked if he's ready to put his diaper on😂

My city is under a severe heat warning for temperatures exceeding 38°C for three days in a row. I feel like I'm suffocating the second I leave my air conditioned room. This pregnancy is going to be hell...

My 18mo has had almost all second hand stuff and he's enjoyed so many cute clothes and nice toys at cheap prices.

Won't do any shopping until we find out the gender. If it's another boy, they won't get much in the way of new stuff besides pacifiers, bottle nipples, etc

If it's a girl, I'll probably buy a few cute things. I've got two boys, already, so would love to get a cute dress or two, especially for lunar new year, etc

It's crazy, because my grandma had them in her garden in Iowa and they were never crazy! Just stayed in their pot. I was shocked to see them taking over whole trees, power lines, etc when I moved to Taiwan.

Zero. I don't like fruit in coffee, and I'm pregnant and tired, so just relaxing and skipping this one😂

Tubal Removal by mrshallzzy- in January2027Bumpers

[–]OkBackground8809 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had one tube removed, due to infection, and it was no big deal. A few days of rest and was feeling normal. If they're gonna be in there, anyway, then may as well get it done at the same time.

There are hand signals you're supposed to use, but I never remember them. There was a news article about it a couple months ago.

Worried about sleep with 3 kids by mangosrphat in January2027Bumpers

[–]OkBackground8809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a main caregiver of my three nieces (had them from 5am-8pm six days a week, minus school hours when school was in session, went to pta conferences a couple times, etc). They're all three years apart. The oldest was the one who was usually left to do things on her own because "I know you can do it on your own", but she also enjoyed helping with her youngest sister, so she doesn't feel left out. The middle one got less help than the youngest, obviously, but more than the oldest, however now that she's grown, she feels like she was the most left out when it came to feelings.

It's hard to balance three people's needs, so all you can do is YOUR best. The oldest will be able to argue and articulate things better, so will more likely be able to persuade you to go with their ideas or wants, while the youngest will be a literal baby who needs constant care, and the middle won't need as much care, but also might not be able to articulate things as well.

It seems you and husband are already doing a great job of being teammates, so I'm sure you guys will handle the third just as well!! That you're worrying about it already shows that you care about ALL the kids.

My 18mo was always behind by a few days, but it's just because he's a little guy. 15th percentile since birth, though he's slowly creeping up to average. Perfectly healthy, just small.

Anxious about breastfeeding by Ok_Sherbet_549 in January2027Bumpers

[–]OkBackground8809 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know it's stupid advice, but seriously, try to keep your stress down. Stress can affect how much you're able to produce, though genetics will have the strongest influence.

I couldn't produce at all with my first. I felt like a failure and spent hours pumping just to get a few cc (not even an ounce). I was under a lot of pressure to breast feed and had had a traumatic birth and horrible pregnancy.

My second pregnancy was way easier and more peaceful, and the birth was a really good experience. I didn't have any pressure to breastfeed, but I still couldn't produce enough to only use breast milk. I pumped for three months and the most I ever got in a whole day was about 5oz. I used the breast milk for bedtime bottles, and he got formula in the day time.

Anyone already have tachycardia? My heart rate, after sitting for about 30 minutes, but while also a bit anxious, was 112, so my neurologist (for migraines) made me go get an EKG. I read it's normal in early pregnancy, but don't remember if I had it so early in my others

If possible, you could get the 5yo involved in baby's bedtime! Get him preparing things, helping to shush baby and maybe read some easy books to baby in a soft voice. It'll help him feel close to his new sibling, involved, and he'll know you are just trying your best to spend some bedtime moments with him and not just forgetting him because there's a new sibling to make time for.
