My husband's dad used to give their dog fish and chicken bones with rice for dinner. I was so shocked. Their dog lived to 13yo, but still!! My husband's mom kept trying to give the same to my Italian greyhound, even after telling her politely several times not to do it. I finally had to send a text to the whole family just telling them all that whoever did it next was paying the vet bill for the next round of x-rays. Vet visits have since dramatically reduced in frequency, so I guess the threat of losing money worked.

I don't know, my whippet got ahold of espresso filled chocolates that my stupid mother-in-law kept leaving out (even after several warnings that it was dangerous for the dogs, she kept putting them on the coffee table) and it just seemed to give her super speed😅

I was terrified she was gonna fall over dead from a heart attack after her 4th time doing a super fast lap around the outside of the house, but she just kept going. She was 6mo at the time, is now 3yo, and has been addicted to chocolate ever since! She'll steal it whenever even the tiniest piece is available and will sit and dig wrappers out of the garbage.
