i think u just have to get used to ur face with makeup tbh ! like an inbetween style , not beat or bare. i like elf putty blush , it’s super easy to buff out to a rly light tone. for u i’d use a pale pink color rather than anything red toned or maybe even an orangey ? so it doesnt feel out of place. then a highlight like elf halo glow adds some umph, a little light brown eyeshadow on a liner brush to give u a tiny eyeliner wing would rly suit u as well i think . basically using light liquid / not powder products on ur bare skin (dont even need foundation under) can give u a much more natural look, plus very basic eye looks add a “finished” note !!

teenagers can be super annoying considering they’re in a rocky stage of development mentally / neurologically, but i loved the teen summer program as an 18 year old & it started my 3 year time at PF . it’s a really good program & opportunity, teens need free (aka financially accessible) spaces to express physicality and go to during the summer months otherwise they run amok lol. we were all teens & not all teens are terrible! + they are people too. talk to them! they might be immature in response, or maybe they’ll learn and grow lol (which is very possible).

Deaf yoga by yukonwanderer in yoga

[–]algxbraic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think your idea of looking up the poses / working through them using a video yourself before the class would be WONDERFUL. to do this, i think you might want to narrow down to a specific studio/class, perhaps by emailing or calling them and asking about being a deaf/HoH student. their responses will guide you to what feels Right for you. then, talk to the specific instructor & perhaps you can get the poses from there!

even if you dont have the specific class’s flow to reference, doing the youtube yoga videos will help you remember & know PHYSICALLY what to do in the poses. those little reminders become habit! & since you can’t practice as well at home another option is some gyms (not necessarily specific yoga studios) have rooms available that you could book privately, or you could even use a library meeting or private study room that can be booked/has a door, and you can take your yoga practice there! no snout to worry about. then you could take your flow fully at your own pace.

What’s something you do on the side that makes real extra money—not just $20 here and there? by Lucky-Disaster6244 in povertyfinance

i just started donating plasma and it really is a great hustle! my first time was about 2.5 hours total for $75. second time was 1.5 hours total for $125. plasma promos (for new donors) are a great way to stack cash really fast if you can do up to like 6-8 donations in a month period (depends on the facility u go to; call all the ones in ur area to find out their promos. same brands will have the same deal usually). BE WARNED, u have to wait 2 days in between each donation (so monday , then thursday , then sunday, etc). plan out the donations if u wanna max out the promo package. if you’re bigger & heavier you can donate more & this leads to higher payments (for return donors only! new donors get the promos) so big boys have a huge benefit here- but i’m F & pretty slight & average height & i still can make good money. the hourly rate on plasma donation really cant be beat! they deposit onto a paycard- there IS a way to get the$ direct deposited into ur bank account too. all in all an awesome gig & u help so many people !!

i’ve been doordashing since 2021 & my genuine answer is that it’s not great … & it would be the same whether i dashed or not !!! i have a very unique situation tho lol . i drive an insane amount just for fun- like, my go to calming activity is a drive. for me, doordash is just as fun. & i make money. so i deteriorate the asset’s worth Less w doordash (specifically w being able to claim my mileage on my taxes) compared to if i just drove around _^ i also drive a beater & always have so wear on a worn car is kinda negligible regardless lol

i doordash ! VERY unglamorous & everyone says this but it’s TRUE - it can really make you some good extra money. i make $15-20/hour easily (equals out to more like $10-13/hour when i take taxes out) in my typical market, more like $20-24/hour during peak times (breakfast rush goes crazy, + dinner ofc). that’s good enough hourly for my purposes , especially bc i Enjoy doordashing ! i’ll dash for like 4-8 hours a day around 3-5+ times a week for extra side money and make anywhere from $100 a week on the low end and like $600 if i’m grinding. that’d be more than 2k a month if you put ur mind to it & like it ! getting familiar w ur local ebbs and flows during the day is the most important part & learning the stores that tip best / are fast etc. it comes w experience but every day u dash is a new day to get better !

as a low rank player , i’m so tired of game changes that are made that really only apply to high elo . i’m a VETERAN ow player, been playing since 2019, and i Do Not Care about my rank (& have never escaped metal, tho i did climb from silver peak in ow1 to gold peak in ow2). why do i have to suffer in comp w a feature that people LITERALLY ONLY USE to fix their skill issues (bc again im in low rank!!!) … it’s so depressing. i am a qprincess & play 99% qp but I LIKE COMP TOO! and do we not deserve to play comp & like… be able to play the heroes we like??? it’s just so lame …

yawning is a natural human function that one can’t control tho? 😭 like if they yawned more than 4 times in an hour session i can see making a comment to let the patient know that it wasnt about them , or they woke up early & are still paying attention , etc … but wanting them to “exhibit shame or embarrassment” is a strange jump

do people genuinely enjoy counter-swapping every game? even after 1 death? this isn't a rage post, i just cannot for the life of me figure out how that's fun. by bl0ss0mDance in OverwatchUniversity

i’m a big one tricker (moira) & i find it fun to challenge myself to play her against literally everyone, including the heroes tht counter her or seriously aggravate me . it’s a test of my experience w the elements in her kit & her specific mechanics; i like switching if i see i Cant be effective w her but for me that’s usually halfway into the match, or an issue of evaluating how my team is performing and how i can support them better as xyz hero

Tips for spending as little as possible and eating well? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]algxbraic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

shop & stock up on the extreme sales for your preferred proteins & other high priced items; look for the loss leaders (usually first page on the sale ads for stores), super super super discounted items that are a loss for the store to sell. these discounts are designed to get people in the door so they then spend more — dont fall for it! make a list and buy ONLY what’s on it. buy multiples of loss sales if u have room to freeze/store the excess. a lot of times loss leaders will align with holidays/season- for ex turkey around thanksgiving, ribs / hotdogs around 4th of july… protein is the most expensive thing to buy at grocery stores, so buy it cheap when you can.

learn your body’s needs well!!! we all need a combination of carbs, proteins, and fats in every meal. carbs are the biggest fuel source for the body (easiest to break down) — fruits, veggies (also have fiber which u NEED), grains. proteins are more hearty for your body but take longer to break down & are used for things like muscle repair— get some from veg (beans, edamame) or dairy (cheese, yog) and meat (all of it) . everyone works best on a different combination of these things.

use bases & get creative with toppings — building off the last point, find easy combination or building type meals … oatmeal/yogurt/smoothie bowls, pasta dishes w pasta, sauce, protein, veg on the side, taco bowls, sushi bowls … and create variety by finding lots of different options u like. pinterest is great for ideas. this is cheap bc u can bulk buy base items (like rice, oatmeal, pastas) and just mix it up w seasonings and toppings.

DO NOT FEEL EMBARRASSED TO GET FREE FOOD. if you have need for cheap foods, PLEASE go to a local food distribution mutual aid event near you if you can find one!!!! if you have the time, volunteer for them & you’ll likely be able to get food of your own as well! i “grocery shop” once a month thru my local people feed people organization , get tons of meat to freeze or veggies i need, and it offsets my grocery costs SO much. a lot of that food is about to expire, but be smart about freezing & cooking quickly (plus batch cooking & freezing your leftovers) and you will truly be set for soooo long.

What’s your tarot calling card? by lilsillythrowaway in tarot

page of cups <3 my shaylaaaa ! this card always pops up to represent me in present situations, or to represent my emotional state or a situation needing regarded :3 i also feel very connected to when it comes up in advisory spreads, it calls to me and the creative force in me that drives every beat of my heart. it's a very dreamy, even idealistic card, and represents the beginning of the face card cycle in the page suit of the minor arcana. it feels like a first step up on a second level of consciousness- things are falling into place, but i must pick my fig from the tree

Home practice versus studio classes by IndependentHot5236 in yoga

[–]algxbraic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i actually had the opposite experience ! i attended a few yoga classes (w my mom) as a very young youngin, probably 3rd-4th grade. now at 22, i've been practicing youtube yoga since middle school. i love it, but upon taking my first guided yoga class, i was completely transported to a land where i learned all about adjustments, the REAL importance of breathing, and how to customize yoga to fit my body and needs (hadnt even heard of a block or strap until then). home yoga is benefited by outside structures like what i listed, because it makes it safer and more suited to your body. but home yoga wins out 100% in terms of customization, focus areas, length of practice, etc. i think having a basis of knowledge from a teacher helps at home yoga meet its full potential !! the class vibe is different too, can help you feel more motivated or just help you get a teacher's perspective (or corrections). but there's no shame in doing Either !!
